Contemplating an NX4
I'm interested in the NX4 but I've noticed that the engine for this is somewhat of a discontinued venture when looking at engine manufacturers. There is an O.S. 39 for a reasonable price but the optimal gearing is not the same as what the NX4 has so that might not be an option.
I know that there are engines out there but my concern is that a few years down the road will there still be parts for the engine and from Gaui if I purchase this heli. I'm really liking the Gaui heli's as they look pretty sharp. Also, if I do go with this heli what type of flying times am I looking at with this little beast with conservative flying? Thanks in advance.

there are still os 37 available new on ebay failing that there are the gaui gas engines available
with my nx 4 and a 37 im getting about 8 mins before i start on the header tank i believe that with the gas engine flight times may be double or even tripple that i have a new gas setup waiting in the wings

Thanks for the quick response. It's reassuring to know that there are engines still out there. I don't think I'm gonna go gasser on this and stick with the nitro if I decide to get it which, let's be hones, I'll probably end up ordering in the next few weeks. Any other advice on this model that anyone cares to bestow upon me?

they have a known issue with fragile tail pitch sliders i have had 1 brake in flight ther is an upgrade available which solves this problem and changes the tail to a twin point control similar to align well worth the investmant approximatly $65 from empire also un uprated head but that is not as important
When building make sure to use locktight as you will see in my signiture i have 5 main helis but its th nx 4 that gets the flight time such a great heli

rob221, LOL I learned the value of loctite when I bought my first Harley a few years back. Thanks for the heads up on the tail slider as I haven't seen that particular issue in some of the threads I've read.

Definitely get one!
The OS37 is a dead end, but you'll have options when parts run dry. You can go to the gasser engine, or guys like mmracecars have put YS50s in the NX4. Before you build, do yourself a big favor and throw away all the M3x6 Button Head screws used all over the frame sides. Use the Gaui 842025 M3x6 Socket Head Cap Screws instead, or I used these: http://www.mcmaster.com/#92832a215/=uebgna

I'm addicted to the NX4 so my opinion is biased. I have the OS.37 engine as well as the T-10 engine. So far I've burned a couple of gallons through the gasser, and it seems stronger with every flight. The gasser will give an electric a run for its money... 2600rpm with no sagging, and 15 minutes per tank
I've temporally switched back to the nitro to burn up 4 gallons of fuel I have, but the gasser is going back in when that is done The only downside I can think of is I spend more time tinkering with the NX4 then I do with electrics, but I enjoy that part of it as well

It's an awesome heli, I have put over 30+ flights on mine in a few weeks. With the 19t pinion it rocks at a solid 2850 head speed and is awesome for 7mins of 3D.
When parts become hard to get for the OS30 I will upgrade to an OS55 or gasser. Its awesome..

pitch slider
Even cheaper solution for the pitch slider..is the one got the raptor it fits perfectly and I've been flying mine that way since day one...being that I broke the stock slider during the build...it's 11 bucks from Thunder Tiger..
