Default Another intro I am working on
OK just started this little project for a heli flying intro.

Looking for some ideas on what to do after the heli pulls away and it fades. Thinking of some fancy title or something but any ideas you all have would be nice!

What about a 3D heli appears from the left with a smoke trails and leaves the titles on the screen?

Thats great bob, how about the logo doing 3D like you have ending with a nice auto at the end ( a nice one not like my ugly ones ) ?

While that was the original idea I have to say it took me a HECK of along time to motion track that heli just tic toc'ing so I couldn't imagine trying to motion track something doing 3D. The auto I can do but it would have to be the same scene or the transition would look weird. TO do it I would need a flight where someone auto's right there where they tic toc'ed.

I'm not up to speed on all the motion track but I imagine it would be a pain.
How about something simpler like the logo hovering with the nitro smoke then transition into forward flight in a climb out then auto in ?
Whatever you decide I'm sure it will look good.

When it comes to intros, less (shorter) is more. I watch your videos for the excellent content, not the intro. Just my opinion...

Im with Bobbyk only difference would be a pair of finless hands
picking up the logo from the ground and tossing it into
the air and then leaves the titles on the screen

I love it Bob! I wouldn't change a thing. Having messed around quite a bit with video editing, I am very impressed. It's way cool, just the right length, and I love the way it works with the text intro and music. Nice work! How did you track the heli so accurately?

I used Adobe CS4 After Effects which has a very good motion tracking system. However this was still a major pain. I first had to motion track the video as the camera was not on a tripod. I had to track a background area to stabilize the video in general. Once done I 3D tracked the heli. The end of the boom and the nose. Once that was done I had to remove the video motion track so it looked normal again. It took about 3 hours as a n00b at this to get it right for that little short segment.

If you want to see the process here is a video from Video Copilot that explains the double motion track. Tracking the heli was MUCH harder than the example in this training video:

I really like it, but there needs to be a tube of vagisil in there somewhere right?

Maybe remove the heli's shadow and insert a tic-toc'ing vagisil logo?
