That sounds like your tail rotor is not correctly providing antitorque. Check that the tail rotor is spinning up correctly and that the tail servo is working properly.

Also make sure that your belt isn't twisted the wrong way. The tail blades should turn CCW when facing the blade side.

So if I have the helicopter on my workbench and the noses to the right looking at and the tail is to the left the tail rotor should be spinning counterclockwise because it's spinning clockwise so I guess the belt must be twisted

Yup sounds like you may have twisted the belt the wrong way!
when you turn the head clockwise the tail rotor should rotate from the bottom forward and up. If this is not the issue check that the servo is working! Check that the gyro is correcting! You will find the problem if you look close. Ron

Sorry if this is off topic
Hey, sorry if this is off topic, but would you recommend the trex 450 plus for a heli after the msr WITHOUT a sim??? Thanks

The way to remember it is:
The tail rotor sweeps UP and INTO the downdraught from the main rotor. This gives it the maximum amount of authority you can wring out of the little blades. Any help? |

R47, I would spend the money on the Sim first. Then get a heli. If you are set on a 450 the Trex or the Blade 450X are good choices. Going from the MSR (which I believe is fixed pitch if I recall corrected) to a fully collective pitch helicopter without anything in between is a recipe for a crash. The MSR does not prepare you for flying a full CP heli other than the orientation is the same, but the MSR is designed to be very, very stable as the next step past a coaxial. I would suggest if you want something past the MSR to go with a MCPX BL and the Sim...
