Recently purchased the SPA for PL8 in order to charge 7s packs but it's not working!!
SPA is plugged directly into PL8 with 7s Pulse attached (yes, black wire at the bottom) charger in "FMA wiring mode" and charger says its a 3s???!!! Tried "XH mode" as well but just get an error on PL8. Firmware version 3.31.

Please help

I use the SPA boards all the time on my Revolectrix DPL8x2. The charger must be in XH wiring mode to use this adapter board. It will not work in FMA wiring mode. I have also successfully charged a 7s Revolectrix pack using this board.

What is the error on the PL8 you're receiving? The pack should be attached to the balance board at the connector in the middle of the SPA and the pack must be connected so that the black wire on the packs is at the edge of the connector at the "triangle" label side of the SPA.

What is the error message displayed on the charger?

Ace is correct. JST-XH wiring mode is required for that board. Also the main leads are required to be connected to the charger when using JST-XH wiring mode.
