landing skids wearing thru

ok, thinking cap time. i fly off a runway and sometimes i like to do running on landings cause it looks cool.the plastic gear legs are wearing thru tho. any ideas of what i could put on the bottom to slow down the wear? i was almost thinking of some kind of small wheels attached to the skids.

You could do a set up like Lama's have but then I think you would run the risk of losing control and tipping it over.
