Default $40 + for a head bolt????

Had a mishap the other day and bent the head bolt on my 500 ESP 3G. Went to replace the head bolt and found the one that comes in the shaft package is too long (19mm vs 16mm). So now where do I go to just get a 2.5mm x 16mm head bolt. I can't find anything in the 500 parts supply at the various online shops that is just the bolt. I don't want to have to buy a whole head assembly just to get the bolt.

Same thing with the small brass sleeves or bushings in the tail link. Anyone know of a source for them.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

$3.20 for a dozen. What more could you ask for? http://rtlfasteners.com/RC/cm2516.html

Take a dermal and cut the screw down to 16mm. I've done that more than once in my hobby life.

If you cut the jesus bolt down you may not have enough threads for the nut, or at least not enough for comfort.

Two things, mainly the bolt that comes with the 3G is not threaded all the way down the length of the bolt, only the part that screws into the nut. If the bolt is too long (as are the bolts that come with the main shaft set) the nut bottoms out on the shoulder of the unthreaded part before it clamps the head tight to the main shaft. If I use a fully threaded bolt, I forsee torque problems damaging the threads inside the shaft and head.

Is everyone just replacing the solid shank bolt with a fully threaded bolt? If that is working, then I really can get that type of bolt nearly anywhere.

If you have the specs try http://www.mcmaster.com/ or http://www.fastenal.com/web/search/p...ers/_/N-gj4wao

I am sure you can find what you need.

I would go with the bolt with no threads... it fits better and tends not to shear because there are no threads being hammered on while flying. One sheared bolt and you will find out why they used those types of bolts.

I think they are shoulder screws, but I cannot find anything as small as 2.5mm in any of the above referenced links.
