Default Quad H2o

I've seen tons of waterproof quads out there, however this one has enough anchorage to fit FPV gear on it. It's looks are very odd, but that is kind of growing on me after watching all the videos of it in the air.

It's neat, but for what they want for it you could dunk multiple setups before the $$ would make sense.

$850 for the bare kit doesn't seem all that bad to me when most of it's all carbon fiber.

I've molded my own custom carbon fiber car parts before and the materials add up really quickly. The labor and time you put into painting to get an automotive finish like they are showing is not cheap by any sense.

The cost of my FPV camera, Gopro, UHF receiver, and VTX would make this quad worth it's price to me. Not to mention batteries.

It's very cool and the diy kit could be considered. I don't get if the motors are protected? What happens If a motor touches water?

Should be like a brushed motor. Nothing to short out really. Outrunners should fare very well too.

That housing is good for protecting the expensive gear it houses. Motors as far as I am concerned are wear items. Keep them running until they wear out. An 850.00 housing for a camera and all that gear expands your operational capability with the platform.

That would be a great thing for around here with our 130"/year rainfall average! Thanks for pointing it out Clouse!

i used to cleaned brushed motors back in the rc car racing days , by dipping the motor running into a "glass" of water.

I just received my quadh2o. This thing is pretty cool.
I'm putting the pixhawk/ublox in it with onboard fpv and external gopro on an ebay brushless gimbal. Going to use vtx/rx and a switch.
Going to use the dji e300 kit.
This will definitely give me piece of mind while flying over water.
I'll update as soon as I complete the maiden.

Hello Z_Man_95,

Did you manage to get the Pixhawk working with the QuadH2o? I'm intending to do exactly the same thing and wondered how you went about doing it?

Cheers

James

The esc's are the only thing getting relief. The heat sinks are bonded to the esc and the esc's are glued to the inside with the heat sinks fitting through a cut out in the shell.
