Advice pls PPM & Servo Assignment questions
Hi Guys,
Finally have the time to install my Jeti. Following questions are in need of advice 1. PPM : Do you choose positive or negative ? 2. Output period : To leave it at default of 17ms or ? 3. Servo assignment : Im using Skookum 540 & I notice under tip & tricks that Lou advice the change of servo assigments. Question, may I ask why must this be done ? Also on servo assignment I can only set to 6 channel with the last assignment being gyro sence but its one short, I can't set cyclics for the 7th assignment on my TX. How do I accomplish this ? 4. Lastly what's the difference between PPM & EX Bus ? Both are running single line set up right ? Thank you in advance guys. |

Jaffrie,
Servo assignment under Model: 1 ROLL, 2 ELEVATOR, 3 THROTTLE, 4 YAW, 5 GYRO SENSE, 6 COLLECTIVE, 7 CYCLIC To assign a servo scroll to the number and hit the button and scroll to the function you want. Make sure under functions assignment you have the functiions set as: 1 Throttle as P4 2 Aileron P1 3 Elevator P2 4 Pitch P4 5 Yaw P3 6 Gyro Sense SC 7 Cyclic SD Then in Device explorer Output mode - PPM positive Output period - 20ms This is for a SKOOKUM 540. 2. With SKOOKUM use 17 or 20 ms or default. 3. You must set this up to have SKOOKUM work as that is the sequence of teh channels it expects. You must first go to Function Assignments and hit ADD first to create the "cyclic" function that can then be assigned. If you don't do this then you can't use it in servo setup. 4. PPM is a serial protocol that sends all channels in a burst. In EX bus you need a device that accepts a digital protocol as far as I understand it. There are only a few EX bus hardware equipped device available at the time. I believe the Central box 200 is EX Bus. Lou
