I use trinity royal oil in all of mine, a drop in each bearing every month or so. it stays put and doesn't harm any plastics.

Hi Guys!

Sorry for being away for a long time.
A work project took all of my ``free`` time.

For the users of the frame, can you please tell me what I should change to make it better ?

- The most common issue seems to be the fitting of the landing gear.
The frame does not allow any other LG then the MSR LG.

- The ``nipples`` for the canopy attachment can also be holes to fit in 1 or 1.5mm carbon
rods.

- The new V2 Wild and mild motors are released but I do not have one myself.
I will probably buy one if they are back on stock at Asteroids to try it.

If you want to contact me personally please use this adres from now on;
yflightservice@ - Google`s mail service - .com

Best Regards,
Yannic van Moerkerk.

Default Frame testing

Hello Yannick,

I have tested durability to my utmost. These frames are great. I have broken only one pin in a hard parking lot slam. I have some 1.5mm CF for repairs.

I believe that the main gear survives in your frame better than in a Blade frame. My gears survive quite a while now. Maybe the motor is glued in better. It's certainly not because I am better on the TH switch.

I tear up some mainshafts but at $1 apiece from Tmkarc1hobby.com I don't fret..

Can you tell me the weight difference between your HD frame and the lighter one?
I will order a couple of light frames soon.

I use Blade FAI mCPX skids with Oversky 300mah 45C 8 gram battery. Try these batteries. They fit mcpx skids. They are fantastic on DB nanos and Black Dragon mcpxs. Mcpx FAI skid's could fit a bit better and they break very easily but they look really cool. I use FAI skids on all my mCPXs now, too. I would like it if you made the frame to fit mcpx skids.

Heck. Make some short wide FAI looking skids that don't fall apart. I will buy a lot of them.

Skids are my largest expense. I really like the width of the FAI skids because I use Nanotech 450ma 65C cells for my HP06s. I stick them under with two pieces of velcro

You did really well, Yannick. I admire you. And Thank You. I fly my nanos the most..
Dave

Nice frame only thing I would change would be to have it fit better with the MCPx landing gear and by maybe adding another hole to the rear it would fit both skids. Also maybe do something to stiffen the tail boom side to side. The canopy pins might be better if they were holes for 1.5mm rod and with the front canopy the rod could go all the way through to be one piece for both of the front and the rear could just be reinforced to be all the way round with cf rod halfway through. We can just drill it out after the pins break, but it is not easy. I broke a pin nipple too and fixed it by drilling and insert a paper clip because I had no 1.5mm rod. If it was predrilled, it might be better but then we would need the 1.5 mm cf rod which is not a problem, but the canopy pins might need reinforced even more to support the rod with good strength. Motor mesh is awesome on this frame.

Seems like a nice product as well. We need these all plastic frame options because they are lighter than metal/cf and they stay straighter by flexing back instead of bending like metal, plus they are cheaper.

I wish Blade would get in the game and make a brushless frame, plus a canopy and landing gear to go with it. They should upgrade the models yearly like a 9th generation car. Versions 1 & 2 are not as impressive as versions 3 & 4.

Thanks Dave and JEBSi,

I will make a version of the frame with extra side support for the tailboom.
This can be done using very thin 1mm CF rod or by creating 2 extra triangles on the left and right of the tail boom mounting pod.

Changing the nipples for the canopy mounting to holes for small CF pins will surely increase the strength.
The weight will remain the same.

Can anybody tell me the exact dimension/distance of the M-CPX LG mounting pins?
I will make another version of the frame since weight is so important on the Nano that adding another mounting tube will add more unnecessary weight.

@Dave, The light frame will be back on shapeways soon but I have to change the canopy pins a little bit first.
The canopy pins where to small and volatile, they often broke of already during shipping.

Best Regards,
Yannic van Moerkerk.

I measure 30.1 mm (maybe 30.15?) for mcpx
I measure 28.1 same method for nano

As near as I can get with my old eyes and cheap measurer..

My mcpx landing gear is all bent so I did not measure it.

Parts are on order for the Wild V2 kits, should be a few weeks. I might have to start taking pre-orders to be able to fill the needs....

Default I finally broke a skid post

I fly and crash a lot. Ask my friends. This is unsolicited from the vendors.

Yannickflight Frames need no adapters for servos or motor.
Airtime skids--I haven't broken any skids and my nanos weigh nearly 40 grams*.
DFC grips with larger feathering shaft: Tkmarc1hobbies https://tmkarc1hobby.com/alu-blade-g...x-nacpx02.html

Those mods for a brushless nano make for a durable machine.

*double brushless, 300mah battery, metal grips, etc.

Wow that's some heavy nano do you have a link to the Yannickflight Frames? I got some sample frames from jim think he calls them gizmo frames they are light and very solid. My db bruslless weighs in at 30g flies like a wasp on red bull lol only using 180 hyps as well 240 at max else it just flies too heavy.
p.s the airtime skids are the best and virtually indestructible best skids ever!

Yannick frame.
http://www.shapeways.com/product/RVY...ouble-ar-guide

Yup I just weighed a nano at 39.4 grams with an 8.6 g lipo.. Metal DFC grips, metal swash, Yannick frame adds 0.7, long blades, CF tail support, 52mm tail rotor, long solid boom, plugs for changing parameters on both ESCs. , longer heavier power wires, etc All heavier but they fly really well. The nanos can't do everything but I can load up an mcpx / HP06 to 80% throttle and if I need rocket-like power.

Yes its the 300 battery that does it! rest is fine. Its the dilemma of power and weight balance...

and sweet on the mcpx I had loads of trouble trying to mod mine. Still a work in progress...

Default porky nano is still fun

Even though they are near 40 grams my nanos are tons of fun. Out of 9 helis I usually start with a nano to warm up. Besides a nano is the most forgiving in a crash.

re mcpx build:
I cheated. Dylan Stewart--Astroid Designs-- built copters for me.

My mcpx/HP06 monsters came back from AZ ready to fly. And he built my other 2 mcpxs with BD-14 motors. And my nanos...

That's weird as his nano conversions are really light. In fact the mild is equal if not lighter than stock and the wild is only heavier due to the larger battery needed to power it.

anyone ever thought of using a standard 10a esc with 5v bec ?

id figure the settup would go ...2S battery to power esc and then use 5v black and red BEC out to power 3 in 1 and white as signal from 3 in 1".. ? would 5v kill the stock 3 in 1 board?
