Default I'm giving up on my Tarot ZYX systems

I recently got a 300CFX with the AR7200BX and found the programming to be so easy that I decided to get a HK 3D-H flybarless for my Trex 500 and retire the Tarot ZYX. I was never really happy with how it flew. I felt like I was always chasing the controls. After a flight with the HK unit, I was thrilled with how stable it was only doing the initial basic setup. Didn't have to monkey around with a bunch of gain settings that required a manual to decipher.

I decided it was time to order a HK 3D-H for my Trex 450. I never could get the ZYX to work right in the 450 either. The tail would blow out easily in tail down funnels. I tried several tail servo's to no avail. I could never get the tail gain right, it was either too high or too low. The 500 tail with the ZYX was the same way just not as bad.

Besides the poor performance, the frustration of trying to connect to the ZYX unit with the bluetooth or computer just to make a simple adjustment was driving me nuts. The constant application failures and failed saved settings, two hours set up, trying to get the unit to recognize the receiver satellite will make you want to pitch the unit in the trash. Also the software has too many parameters to jack around with that you end up wondering if its a setting or the controller design itself making the heli fly poor.
I keep you posted to how the 450 fly's with the HK unit.

Sorry to hear of your troubles with the ZYX, but I'm glad you found another system that better suits your style.

However, others may find the flexibility in tuning offered by ZYX a distinct advantage over other units, even top-shelf brands. I have been using the ZYX almost since it first came to the market. I've been flying these on multiple helis and one 3D plank and I've been very happy with them.

+1.

The ZYX saved my sanity when when I had to walk away from another major player's quirks to save my models!

Now use a mix of ZYX and IKON depending on the features I need.

Shame the ZYX S2 is such a let down.

I have always loved the ZYX on my blade 450 3d i converted to FBL but after setting up a few AR7200s Now i just hate the PC programming, i need to find something that doesn't take a PC that works like the AR7200
