I am wondering if there is any plan for carbon version (upper part)?
Thank you.

awwwww Robert, to stump me you gotta come up with better than that. The first day I showed pics of the ring I was getting emails asking the very same. And the answer is, I have something very exciting to show very soon!

will have the prototype 3 axis add on for the VR360 ready by mid January. The ring is based on our Meridian ring design.

DJ,
Care to expound on the advantages of the Ring over your current 3-axis product?

The product shown above is an upgrade for those who own a VR360. No advantage specifically over any other 3 axis product we make. Just wanted to add value to the VR360 by coming up with a 3 axis "hop-up"

Few words about ring systems :
Pay Your attention to the fact that some gimbals, provided with three rotation axles, secure the possibility of stabilization in certain positions only along two axles. It happens so, if the axles of the gimbal get combined. For example, pay Your attention to the gimbal, where the camera is installed inside the rotating transverse ring. If the camera is turned downwards, the axles of the panorama (Z) and of the roll (Y) will coincide, whereas the lateral swinging of the model will pass to the camera. Presence of the rotating ring around the camera is the most complex and unreliable point of such constructions. The purpose of this ring is to secure that the center of the mass of the platform remains in the same place in the course of rotation along all axles. The ring rotates according to the principle of the large bearing, but it is produced out of the light metal. Deformation of such construction caused gaps and jamming. I submit an example of the alternative solution in the scheme below.

He made a separate thread for Meridian II, the "big ring." It's not actually a complete ring.

The prototype ring shown in this thread is available for sale. It's about 15% smaller than the final version but it will fit cameras like the Panasonic SD9, Canon HF20, ContourHD, etc.

$325 shipped

The final version Meridian is probably a bit too large for a T500. it is an 8" ring. The one shown in the pics above is a prototype that uses a 6" ring. Only one exists... however it is for sale if anyone wants it. $375.
