Default Re: turnigy power supply

Charger and PS must "match".

Turnigy would severely restrict output power from 306B/PL6/PL8 (18V is very low for them). Would want Solid or Feather supplies, or the DIY version.

But Solid/Feather/DIY would blow the Hitec charger (>18V).

Can't pick one properly without knowing the other.

Any of the non-DIY can be had ready to just plug in.

I just see someone asking a simple honest question, how is that degrading?

Let's see.... You're asking for help. You get help but it's not the answer you're looking for so instead of just saying thanks, you call a fellow user "lame". Pot, meet kettle.

Prediction: You won't last long here with an attitude like that. Welcome to the radar....

The 18V Turnigy looks to be a good match for the Hitec. 18V power supplies are not that common, choices are somewhat limited.

The Turnigy 18v supply and the Hitec x400 will work together fine. I had the x400 and did not really care for it. It is loud and doesn't balance particularly well. However, if you're looking for inexpensive and easy it will do; especially if you need (want) two ports.

Yes, he only asked about a PS, but if we know more info (like what charger he wants to run) it helps us make recommendations. If he wants to run an iCharger 306 then it is not a good option, if he wants to run the Hitec x400, then it is. Many of us (me included) spent way too much money, time and frustration trying to come up with a good charging solution. We want to help people not make the same mistakes we did.

That might be a good option, however, what batteries are you wanting to charge with it?

If you don't need 2 channels, then the 306B or PL6 make a lot more sense than the Hitec, in my opinion.

Do keep in mind that you need something to recharge the deep cycle. You can use your charger do to that, but you will (wait for it....) need a power supply to run the charger at home, to recharge the deep cycle

Maybe you already have a good lead-acid charger, in which case that's less critical. Personally, I like the idea of an AC supply, so I don't have to worry about if I let it run low, etc, but there are a lot different solutions.

That's part of what makes the hobby interesting, I guess, many approaches to the same problems, each of which suits somebody.

If this is all you’re charging you could use the iCharger 306 or Power Lab 6 and charge them all at once in parallel.

I don't have experience with deep cycle batteries, but I don't think one will be enough to charge these six 6s batts, you may need a second deep cycle, however, I'll let one of the deep cycle experts (Slyster) chime in on that.

Frankly, I don't care if the thread was titled, "Pygmy Goats From Hell"; when someone is trying to help, you don't insult them.
