National Model Aviation Day - August 17th, 2013


The Oroville Air Corps is proud to take part in National Model Aviation Day to help support the Wounded Warrior Project. We will be hosting an open FunFly available to Airplanes, Seaplanes, Helicopters, Multicopters and even an auto gyro. If it flies it is probably allowed! Membership is NOT required to attend this event!!

Open FunFly
Class C AMA Section #13-1878
Bruce Wallace Memorial Field, Lake Oroville After bay
Gates open 9am to 5pm
$10.00 pilot landing fee, includes BBQ lunch
BBQ for sale for non pilots
Visitors and Spectators Welcome
There will be FunFly activities throughout the day
Airplane flight instructors on hand for anyone who wants to try a flight
AMA Special for the event; 3 months free coverage with new member applications

The Oroville Air Corps maintains a site with a 400' x 32' paved runway. We also have lake access for seaplanes, amphibious helicopters/craft and even boats that is back to back with the runway. Both runways may be used at the same time!

All monies received will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project!!!

The turn out is huge and weather is nice. Mostly planes but some helis too.

It's a wrap that was an awesome day but it started to get a bit warm in the late afternoon. Special thanks to Bill Pascale and Larry Sheppard and those of you whom worked so hard. I had an amazing time I never seen plane pilots and heli pilots mingle so openly and closely on such a large scale. Count me in for the next one
