Default 5.1 Voltage Regultor

Okay, excuse me if I am asking an elementary question but I am putting together an Align Dominator Trex 700L and I have looked through the entire manual (a dozen times) for placement of the 5.1 Voltage Regulator and I am stumped!! I also have a GPro, can I direct wire a 2s Lipo to the battery terminal of the GPro? Can anyone help??

You 5.1V regulator goes on tail servo, but it's not really necessary today as tail servos can handle higher voltages.

I've never used G Pro but I put a 2s right into my ikon, I also put a second power lead into my Rx (if you don't use satellites)

You don't connect a2s directly to the fbl if you don't run high voltage. You connect the output from the regulator to the fbl unit and I recommend to connect another output from the regulator to the receiver, if you have one.

Tesla, thanks for your help and that's what I thought but its my first 700 and I don't want to screw it up before it gets off the ground, lol. I'm surprised that they put it in the kit because it's all high voltage servos anyway.

ShalomiB, thanks for u r help too. The Dominator is all high voltage which means I can go straight off the 2s lipo into the GPro, just double checking. Thanks again.

On the other hand if you have hv servos you don't need regulator at all. Just make a plug from the battery connector to servo lead(s) (I have a switch between) and hook it up with the fbl and the receiver if you have one. Make sure the servo leads are as low awg as you can get

Okay, so you would take the black and red from the servos and connect them directly to the 2s lipo battery and you would take the white signal wire from the servos and connect them to the Gpro?
Thanks again.

Sorry I didn't see the last post of yours,

All you need to do is hook up your servos to the gpro as they are. You don't need separate wires.
You make a wire with a servo connector from one end and the battery you have connector to the other (xt60, t60 etc..). Only 2wires the red and black. You connect that to the gpro, to the batt on the bottom left of the gpro.
That's it there is to it.

maybe this is cleared up but the 700L comes with HV servos. You can run everything on 2S LiPo or 2S LiFe without any regulator. Power connects to the Gpro and is distributed to the servos and Sats or RX.
