Can you shoot another gyro video but using like a spartan, align, telebee, futaba 401 a single gyro just for tail? I never gotten to setup a switch for rate mode and head holding. And I had the radio for long time. Still stuck.

Thanks.

'NO worries - WIP - bottom line is that there is NO easy way to setup a switch between rate and HH mode AND have different gains depending on condition - I'm playing with progmix at the moment to see if that can help !

i have switch a setup as my gain switch. it is pretty confusing figuring it out and the instructions are no help, but once you get it figured out its pretty easy. go to the gyro then change from "cond" to "sw". then go over and assign it to sa(or whatever switch you want)

now with the switch in the position you want to be hh mode, select "gy" and "avcs".

now the tricky part. flip the switch to where you want it for normal mode. change the "#1" to "#2". now change "avcs" to "norm"

that sounds more complex than it is, but if mecuriell can get a video up im sure a picture would be worth a thousand words....lol

THAT's a workaround but there is a MUCH neater solution using a PROGMIX from a switch to the GYRO channel - I'll film up a vid today

I'm just getting started with my 8fg super and would really love to see this video since I am struggling with the above problem setting up HH and Rate mode on single switch (using single axis gyro). I think I have it figured out like guitarherowanab stated in his post since it does show it switching in the servo monitor screen, but would like to see your approach as well. Thanks, really appreciate your videos on this new beast!!

Here's the video of single-axis gyro gain setup on the 8FG

Below are a couple of screen shots off the 8FG ProgMix menu to show how a mix from switch SG is ported to the Gyro Gain Channel (5) to flip from -44 to +44 and flip the gyro mode from HH (AVCS) to Rate (Normal)

Default Futaba or DX8?

I just ordered a DX8... now not sure if I should cancel and order the new Futaba.
Thoughts?

From what I have seen so far, the 8FG is WAY more flexible than the DX8, your call.

Well in defense of the DX8, I have had one now for 2 months and I am liking it. It is not as nice a radio as the 8FG but it's also not a bad radio now that the bugs have been worked out. Just sayin.... I would go DX8 over DX7 or 6i.

Hi all 8fg owners out there,

In futaba 6ex, I set my pitch and throttle curve like this:

P/T: 1 2 3 4 5
NP 50 50 50 75 100
IP 0 25 50 75 100
NT 0 25 50 75 100
IT 95 90 80 90 95

....how to set the pi and th curve in the 8FG menu with this values. (in 8FG, it has the curve point and curve rate)......

Just adjust the left value. The right value changes the location of the points.

Default Advanced swash settings

It would be nice to have a video on advanced swash functions. There is a lot that can be done with this radio, but the manual is not to thorough. A video following the steps on the 14z help page would be neat.

THere certainly are plenty of swash options - 6 pages of them ! However most of these are swash mixes and redundant when used with a FBL system that takes care of these in a better manner (mixes in rudder and gov too sometimes) I'll have a think about what could usefully be done and see about a vid
