My favourite canopies are Fusuno. I have one for X5 but I will get more of them for biger sisters.

Also my favourite 800 heli, big and smooth, it was also a pleasure to build with zero issues along the way
Fusuno did my canopy for me, decent quality and fast turn around.

Default Tail stretch !!

Hi satsuma,

Was just wondering how you stretch your tail & tt what method do you do cut and shut or replace will new longer tube ?

If replace where do you get the tube as I have been struggling to get long lengths of thin wall tube for tail extensions.

Looks great I love stretch machines why fly standard when you can fly a stretch
Darren.

Cut and shut is the only way, I can't find thin wall long enough lol BUT, the boom is then sleeved in a carbon tube that JUST fits over the Align boom, so NO joints show.

That is really cool man. Would love to know what parts (especially boom) that you used to do the stretch. Or was everything custom from raw stock?

Flew the 900 today at 1400 rpm, getting 7 mins with just over 25% left in lipo's, esc and motor barely warm .mild sport and scale type flying though.

Done a fair few flights with the 900 now, it's dialled in on the V bar and flying very well at 1200. 1400 and 1500 rpm, no problems etc even at 1200 and the blade noise is awesome

In fact I am analysing why there is so much "metalic" noise in Gartt. Do you have any clue? Could it be related to bearings? They are so smooth... I suspect motor but it is pretty well balanced.

Is the metallic like noise there all the time, or does it change with the headspeed ?

Satsuma,

I love the 900 stretch! I own a Trekker as well. I'm thinking of stretching a 700. Can you explain the term "cut and shut"?

Thank you,
HeliGriff

I assume sound is motor related.

Please compare two different helis with SK3 T700 Helidrive make high pitch, iritating, metalic noise:

This is stretched 600 to 700mm with SK 3 T700:
2013-06-23 700ta (5 min 41 sec)

This is Gartt GT700:
Andrzej with his Gartt 700 - maiden flight (3 min 59 sec)

Those are Assault 700 and Align 700 v3 with Align motors they sound better, no metalic noise:

Assault:
Assault 700 DFC (5 min 29 sec)

Align:
Emil ze swoim TREX 700 DFC na Chudoby 11/11/2013 (6 min 11 sec)

In general I DO NOT care about sound that much. I am just couriou if sound is related to:
- motor
- frame
- bearings
- blades

Definitely Align sounds sweet, Tarsan Karlik Assault sounds good and two my models sound worst...
