What servos are you using, as some centre better than others. Also check your linkages and ball links for any tightness.

Using Align servos, it is a super combo kit, will check everything. Thanks WS

Lightbulb Hey Bob!

Hello Bob, I am new to helicopters. I have a mcpx, the phoneix 4 software program, Trex 250, and a Trex 450. All of which I bought do to over excitement. I'm working with a DX8 transmitter and was told to chat with you about it. My question is do you have a video or can you do a video to show us beginner's how we should set up our controllers so we can make our helicopters a little easiers to fly? So many things to learn and watching all your videos to help out but still lost as to a rookie control setup. A video explaining what our settings should be and what the settings do would be awesome for so many of us I'm sure. Please help us out Bob!!! On the DX8 would be awesome!!! I appriciate all your videos and hard work. Thanks!!!

I recommend the eBooks at rchelicopterfun.com. They are written strictly for the beginner and are excellent! I bought them all and that worked out great getting me started.

FOr a start I'd check out this sections vids on pitch and throttle curves, dual rates and expo- you could check out the T8FG vids on how to set up the swash and tail gyro and then Bob's vids on the specifics on the DX8 - it takes a lot of work to do the vids and logistically impossible to do setup vids on each new radio system - once you have the basics it's just a matter of adapting to the style of each Tx.

In terms of making the heli easier to fly the big pointer is headspeed - keep the HS lower to imnprove controllability - you can then limit collective and cyclic movements and maybe add in 30% of expo to the tail.

I think I'll do a basics setup with curves on the T8FG as part of that series.

Thumbs up

I have to honestly say if it was not for Bob and Ken's hard work and dedication to these videos and links, I would still be flying only "planks"! Thanks Guys! My hats off to you!

Thumbs up Overwhelming Thanks!

Being new to building heli's I know that there is absolutely no way I could have done it without the info and vids in this post. This is in my opinion the best post on the Internet. Thanks to all involved with putting together all this great info. Your great for doing this. Forever in debt....

Default Great Thread for Newbies

This thread is terrific. One question though, Is there a cummulative listing of videos available? I have done several screens and can't seem to find one. I am particularly interested in programming the Dx6i?

I believe all videos are included in the first post. Maybe you should try the Spektrum forum.
