Default Atom 500

On my build I used the 9 tooth pinion, Outrage 6S3000-25C batteries, Align DS520 digital servos, G770T gyro, DS8900G tail servo and AR6200 reciever and all parts fitted without too much problem (tail servo was a pain) and the final balance was almost perfect without having to shift anything much. Call me old-fashioned in this age of 2.4GHz technology but I still like my reciever as far from the ESC and high current leads as possible so I turned the motor 180 degrees, taking the leads through the front bulkhead and made a small aluminium bracket to hold the ESC alongside the battery. Gyro, tail and elevator servos, and throttle have all had their leads trimmed to ideal length. The red wires on the ESC are for the Eagle Tree motor-speed sensor which I havent mounted yet. I wish there was somewhere else to mount the gyro so that it wont get smacked-up if I go digging, but there wasnt. This is rapidly becoming the favourite heli in my fleet, it handles winds ok, electrical components stay nice and cool, it can be flown in a much smaller space than the Trex600 and never fails to put a stupid grin on my face.

This is my baby. Stock ESC and motor with the 8T for placid behaviour. Align DS520 cyclic servos ( I am guessing for the same reason Matt has his, recommended by our LHS), GY401 with the 9257 servo and a AR7000.

All wiring was trimmed to length, braided and heatshrunk. Took some time to do all this but the end result is worth it I think. Half the fun is the build, right?

Flight weight is 1.788 kg with 2x Outrage 2200 3C batts.

Another one about to hit the streets, all gussied up and ready to maiden. As soon as the weather clears.. Stock motor, BEC 9t. 9650's and spartan gyro, 9257 on the tail. After reading all the fuss about the tight ball links, mine actually had a ball reamer in the kit..Nice Touch! This will be my first electric and I think my nitros may be allready plotting something against it.

"is there still a phasing issue?"

There is not a phasing issue and there never was.

I have flown it with both the Yellow Funkeys and the Radix blades.

Finless has tested it with Align blades.

THERE IS NO PHASING PROBLEM-PERIOD!

The is the straightest flying helicopter I have ever flown in the last 33 years!
