Has anyone tried the 1300MAH 6S Nano's - http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=23919

Curious to see what the COG is like with these, in the process of buying all the bits and pieces to build a Mini - just trying to determine which batteries to go with (also looking at the 1300 TP's from Ark) - but at $80 a pop wanted to check other options, I know the TP's are quality packs and I have no qualms spending more for quality - just curious what other potential options are also.

Here is some pics next to my 1300Mah 6s Blue lipos.

Hey, Vizzion, glad to see you are moving to mini protos after all the mcpx fun!

I have 4 TP 1300's and 2 of those Nano's, I have 30 cycles on the TP's, they are my primary packs. I only have 2 cycles on the Nano's.
I can not tell a performace difference and both are similar in terms of CG, they are small so you can move them around a fair bit to get it right.
I suspect the nano's will die faster than TP's, but I cant be sure until I get more cycles on them all.
If you have plenty of money, for sure the TP's will be good, but if not the nano's will be just as good, but who knows for how long.
I just look at flight time, more packs = more flight time, so if I was spending $250 on packs, that would be 3 TP's or 10 nano's!

Nice, that would be perfect for a stretch!

Yeah moved on from my Mcpx phase recently - I had to keep one thou and still absolutely love it to death, I do all my learning with it and I couldn't bring myself to sell all of them after pumping so much into them... I got the 450X, but I am itching to build something and getting a 'quality' no expense spared kit - so here I am looking at the Mini P as it fits the bill and I am not in a position to go bigger at the moment as I am in the process of relocating to Singapore.

Gonna spec it identical to your FBL one by the sounds of it, stretched + Low head + FBL + + DS95's + Vbar / Beastx (undecided if I just use the AR7200BX or make the switch to Vbar to run a phase sensor and the gov or just use the YGE gov - any feedback here?)

Totally agree on the more packs = more flight time.

Think I might order myself the Nano's and a couple of TP's - I am not fussed about flight times, I just want good solid performance for the entire flight! No doubt that TP's will likely last twice as long as the nano's (not confirmed, but one would assume) - so whilst they are more expensive initially, they should last a good while.

Bill with msh-direct sent me some Desire Power 1800mah 45c 6s batteries to test and I have to say, they are very nice! Lots of power, no bogging, or puffing at all. Best battery I've ever used.
Damn, these things sound near perfect! I assume they're not available for retail yet? Couldn't find anything on the Desire Power website...

I flew 4 packs on my stretch with 1800mah zippy's.
I got just over minute extra flight time(4:20 @ 3100rpm) than the 1300mah TP's(3:00).
I was also using the vbar governor for the first time, it went ok, I think I have tuning to do on it tho.
I also started playing with the tail gain, I got it fairly high and still no wag and it was crisp as!

seems like you should be getting alot more flight time with the 1800mah 6s zippys batteries.

he should be getting more with the 1300 mah thunderpower 6s 65c he has also also. I just got mine a few days ago and just breaking them in and while just flying sport mild 3d these do not lack flight time at all even at 3000 govorned headspeed and stretched. I use ice lite 50 esc 8khz pwm and low timing which is the recommended 'scorpion settings. 5 minutes no problem and still come down at 3.8 resting voltage or 72% used according to data log. Actual mah put back in under fast 2c charge is only 70%. Obviously some misinformation going on here and I love these lighter packs and they will balance a stretch no problem. If you have your fbl unit boom block mounted instead of hanging the battery over the front, 2 small 7 gram stick on lead weights (from great planes) at the very front of battery or each side of the very front frame will solve it. Total weight perfect balance 230 grams. A lot better than 290 to 300 and plenty of flight time.

Obviously the ideal pack for a 6s setup will be a 1600 mah pack with a longer length and lower profile than currently available but with a weight not exceeding 250 grams period! Until then the tp 1300's even though pricey are the best yet IMHO. Also by all known standards and proven testing they should last a long long time. Just make sure when you are done for the day to storage charge (or (discharge to storage) them at 3.85 resting voltage.

26 flights today in hot sunny weather, mostly in batches of six lipos without cooling pauses in between. Mostly practiced tictocs in as many orientations as possible. Perhaps not the best thing for the motor to have the magnets run continuously hot, but the whole heli didn't protest once.

I love this thing on 6S, so efficient.

Was running Desire Power 35C 6S1P LiPo's btw, pretty happy with them so far.

Just two flights today to measure head speed and dial in my tail gain. Now at +35% gain on dx7s. Oiled up the tail shaft so it's silky again. All that combined with the new edge tail blades and wow, this tail is simply AMAZING! Super precise stops, no wag, no blowouts. Was going to attempt some tail slides and transitions from fff to fbf, but it was too windy. Back to sim.

+2 on the Edge tail blades... Seems solid for my noob3d. I tried some 3s 2800ma packs got an extra minute of flight and the balance is much better than the 2200.

Also upped my ATV to 110 and flipidy flip!!! (BeastX transmitter mode), almost lost it a few times but I like.

My attempt is to shorten servo wires and put protecting sleeves on servo wires.
Do You guys have opinion for Rx placement to get it right at first try, specially for CG?

Why would you make such accusations? Perhaps a picture will do justice?

And btw, concerning TP 6S1P 1300mAh packs, I was already aware of their existence months before the 9th of April 2012: https://www.helifreak.com/showthread...42#post3830842

Five days after that post though, someone posts this: https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=406093

No problem, happy to have informed you, helping fellow flyers!

my deepest apologies. I had the desire 1800 single 6s stuck in the back of my head and they are not available for purchase yet. I really jumped the gun (as I am an idiot) on this one. Again my deepest apologies
