Default 300x battery options

What battery options do we have for the 300x?
I can't seem to find any available alternates.
1350 30c or 1300 25-30c?

This is the best option that I was able to find earlier this year. Gens Ace have been getting really good reviews over the past year or so. A lot of people say the C rating is underrated on their packs (or that other companies overrate theirs).

+1 to jay. I bought my gens ace batteries back in late February in preparation for the 300x. We will find out soon how well they work out.

I picked up a couple of the Gens Ace packs, but they shipped with 20AWG wires on them which really don't look like they are up to the task.

The standard E-flite pack uses 13AWG which is probably more than is needed, but 20AWG on the Gens Ace packs seems way too small.

Did you use those packs for flying already? I also received some of those packs today and i'm now wondering what to do with those small wires and JST-Plugs.

Only thing I can recommend is the same thing I am doing which is to return them to the vendor for a refund.

Pity really as if they had shipped with 14AWG as per the Gens Ace website then I would have been perfectly happy with them.

I dunno guys, I think I'm going to have to put my faith in the gens ace engineers on the 1300 packs. They've been keeping people happy for awhile now, and skimping on a wire doesn't make much sense.

Unless there is an EE or someone who can back up why these pack's leads are not fit for the job with math/logic, I think these pack will be just fine.

Btw, the quality of copper also plays into lead performance.

The way I look at it is E-Flite know the needs of their heli, they put 13AWG wires and an EC3 plug rated at 60A on a pack rated for 40A delivery.

Gens Ace make great packs, but like a really good milk-shake you can't enjoy it without a suitable sized straw

They elected to put a connector rated at 2A and wiring to match.

I think Gens Ace would reasonably say they designed this pack for the sort of demands you'd expect to run through a JST connector, hence the wire.

If you change the connector but not the wire you are asking for trouble, the two were designed for each other.

I just took a peek at my 1300 packs.

When I got my packs in Feb, I didn't remember seeing anything strange on them, such as small leads. But it was awhile back so I decided to double check.

After taking a look at them, I see my packs have 14AWG leads on them - so there is plenty of pipe on these things to keep up with the heli (which by the way has a 25A ESC).

I have a bunch of EC3s on-hand which I'll be popping on here to replace the 4.0 banana plugs, though.

Sure will be nice to put them to use...soon!

Those packs I'd use without a second thought, the ones they are supplying now are worthless sadly, so take care if you order any more ...

Btw, on the particular packs that I have the JST/HX connector is only for balancing.

Hey Mark,

Did you order the same packs that I linked to in post #2, or a different pack altogether?

If its the same link/pack, then as you said they must have changed up the wires.

That's pretty lame.

On a positive note, you did get a cool "5C" sticker as a bonus! heh.

The web site link says:
Plug: 4.0 Banana Plug
Doesn't say what wire size tho.
If it comes with a JST, that is NOT what they are advertising.

Perhaps the sticker indicates that those packs have a value of 5 Cent with this wiring

The link that peter posted has a table near the bottom of the page which indicates 14AWG leads.
