Question 90 SE torque tube

Any tips on getting the torque tube into the tail boom? I was going to do a test fit at the end of the night last night and I put part of the torque tube in and the support bearings look a little bigget than the tail boom

Hey Rex-Flyer: This is the method I use. Insert the bearings from the front end of the tail boom (where the 2 slots are). Fold the flanges on the bearing housing as good as you can, then put a little isopropal alcohol around the outside of the white flanges that you just folded down, and work it into the tail boom. Once you get the bearing housing inside the tail boom, it goes much easier. I personally put 3 bearings spaced out equadistant from each other to give a smoother, vibration free, tail drive. This method has worked very well for me, but maybe someone has a better way. Good luck to ya.

Thanks for the tip, I finally got it in there and man it was a pain, I know one bearing moved a little on me but hopefully that doesnt cause a vibration. The bird is almost done, all I have to do is fit my electronics and go pick up one fly bar control arm ( only got one with the kit ) I cant wait to get this bird in the air

I sprayed the inside of my tube with silicone and it went in really easy. I do the same when pushing an antenna into a tube.

Wow glade to see some Raptor owners out there. arent you supposed to apply some shoe goo or clear sillicone to the outside of the shaft bearing before installing in the tube. also a small drop of then c/a between the inner race and shaft to prevent the shaft spinning in the race. good luck hope your flying soon

I sprayed the inside of the tube with WD-40 and put a hose clamp around the bearing and closed it till it fit inside the tube, Getting the other half in was a breeze after that.
