Question 500 doesn't flip straight

Was out flying the 500 tonight and noticed something wired, it didn't quite flip straight forward or backwards. Meaning if i do a elevator flip to inverted, it ends up lopsided as if I had I putted aileron. It isn't really noticeable doing 3d, but in just straight flips I noticed it, and have never really seen it before. I went over it and releveled the awash at low mid and high stick, haven't flown it yet after that. Just wondering what you guys think?

Do you fly thumbs or fingers?

Could be a phasing issue. Take off the blades, line up the feathering shaft with the tail if you have 4 balls on the top of your swash, you can see if the ball above the elevator servo aligns with the elevator servo ball. If not, adjust phasing in your FBL. If you only have two balls on the top, then go to your FBL setup so that the gyros are not compensating, line the feathering shaft as before and and apply elevator up or down, if your grip arms move at all, you have a phasing issue. Most FBL systems have a setting to adjust this.

Good luck.

Did you not notice the big "TEAM FLYBAR" logo in his post? He doesn't have FBL on his heli.

Even without a FBL controller, he could still have a phasing issue, right? There's just not a control to automatically adjust for it - he has to do it himself.

Well to simplify things, if he is to answer my question, the solution may be pretty simple and not even involve the helicopter.

I was going to say level the swash plate, but you beat me to it. Bet that cures it...but then you'll probably have to recheck top and bottom pitch being equal and I am guessing tracking.

Sorry guys I totally forgot about this thread! Im flying flybar on it, thumbs. I have leveled the swashplate, went through servo endpoints and leveled at low and high stick also. It helped a little bit, but still flips kind of crooked. It is also kind of "lopsided" in aileron tic tocs, meaning instead of going straight side to side, it tends to move some in the elevator axis. Trying to get this sorted before IRCHA, running out of ideas. The 450 is "true" in each axis of input, so I'm sure it is not something I am doing...

It is very possible that it is due to the fact that you fly thumbs. When you move your thumbs, it does not have a tendency to go straight. You have to compensate for it. It can be done, but takes a little bit extra effort.
