Default PL8 error code 96

A little frustrated at the moment as the PL8 has packed up after 2 weeks use.
Unit powers on but refuses to charge and error 96 comes up - refers to PWM.

Tried 3 different power sources to no avail.
E-mail support - they have told me to purchase the USB adapter and do a fatory reset.
After 2 weeks wait for the cable, tried the factory reset and did not work either!

Has anyone else had this issue?
Can anyone tell me how long the RMA process would take - have been without a charger for nearly a month!

Did you try re-flashing it with the latest firmware?

None that I know of, but there's no such thing as electronics with a zero percent failure rate. That's why they have warranties. It does suck when you're the lucky winner.

Call them up and ask, I'm sure they'll give you an estimate.

I know you tested 3 supplies. But could you list them? Also what size and type of pack (mah, cell count, chemistry) is being charged? Which preset is being used?

Please do not try this if you are not very familiar with soldering PCB boards.
Also be aware that by doing this you would void the warranty.

I had the same issue, It was in the middle of the summer, I did not want any time down so I opened it and found a puffed electrolytic capacitor I replaced with one of the same capacitance but higher volts (50V if I am not wrong ) and voila! better than ever

If you are not in a hurry or if you have a back up, it is always better to send it back to the manufacturer and have it done by them
