Bob, thanks for the wonderful videos. Based on your vids alone, I'd bought myself a G3... But I fly Mode 1.. hence it's kinda toufg for me to translate your stick movements. Is it possible for u to post a recording too?

If not, it's still cool.

That was the old G2 sim which due to it's lower graphic needs allows me to record to video.

These are great. I am still only a vr rc heli pilot, all i have is a sim. But I loaded up a trex model in G3 and am working with that (need to experiment with the settings, my battery wears out after only a few minutes 3-4) I am just working on hover and that video really helps.

One big question. A hover, is it perfectly stationary, or are slight (few inches tops) movements within acceptable range? What I am wondering is at what stage should I feel comfortable with a tail in hover and know that I can go on to the others?

I'm a noob and have been wondering the same thing. I can get the heli into a slightly moving "hover", but is this actually a "hover"?

A book I have defines "Advanced Hover" as basically anything you do slowly, including the forward and backward flight you are talking about. He differentiates this type of flight because the aerodynamics change when you start to do fast flight.

Man, am I glad I bought a simulator. I think I have tail-in hover pretty well, I don't pendulum, if I happen to push the stick to far in one direction I don't swing back, I bring it undercontrol in that direction, then slowly move it back where I want it... but, I switched to right side hover... Crashed 4 times in 4 minutes. Had those blades and tail boom been real.. *shudder*

Schmots, tell me about it! I can't tell you how many times I've crashed and thought "Man, am I glad this isn't the real thing." Otherwise, I would've replaced my heli dozens of times over by now.

But the autorotation one where you use throttle hold...the throttle hold switch doesnt do anything when i press it on my controller..... ( its a futaba 8u super) i even tried it with my true heli(on the ground as i am not very good at flying yet) and it didnt make the servos move at all! Please help me configure this!

Hi Bob,
many thanks for all your help. I am a raw beginner with Helis I have fixed wing expierience, I have the g2 sim, but can't seem to get the training helie set up, My tail never its still like the one in your vid. Could you please give me some tips to set it up, I guess the gyro is the culprit I am using the basis training heli with the training undercarriage the impala trainng heli.
many thanks
Dave

Hi Bob,
I'm using the impala training heli with the training undercarriage.
Should I make a change to the gyro settings, I have to hold in right rudder the whole time , my trim is full right on the rudder stick

Center the rudder trim and use one of the other helis as I dont think the impala has a HH type gyro programmed....
