Default Modifications

Here is the list of the modifications I've done to the 500N:

Main tank - output vents now facing toward the front of the helicoper. Cleaner looking. Clearance from the top of the tank to the autorotation tail drive gear is about 1/16 of an inch. The tank may be moved back toward the tail so that the nipple pressed against the tail boom block for additional clearance. Having the tank facing forward with the nipple pressed against the tail boom block prevents the tank from coming loose on hard 3D.

Governor - Spektrum Rev Limiter Sensor wired to the Align RCE-G600. Sensor mounted to the back plate. Two flanges inside the back plate were milled out for the sensor to fit. RCDepot/flyhelirus now offers the milled back plate and metal mounting bracket for those running the Spektrum sensor. Gear ratio is now 1:1. The sensor needs to clear the bottom plate so I trimmed out a small portion of the bottom plate for clearance. To connect the sensor to the RCE-G600, use Spektrum 6" Quick Disconnect Remote Receiver Extension Part No. SPMAJST3

Battery - A broken battery tray (Part No. 500B020) was trimmed and CA'd to the bottom of the bottom plate. This provides additional surface area to attach the loop part of the velcro. Hook and Loop (with D-ring) is used to secure the battery to the bottom of the helicopter.

Attached are pictures of the mod.

My kit is stuck in UK customs. When it clears it will be all systems go. Can't wait.

BenHeli, Could you post the modifications as a sticky. That way whenever an improvement is made it will be easy to find.

Cheers

Sorry guys! I was stuck working on an emergency brief to be filed this morning so no pictures of the modification. I'll have it, hopefully, later this afternoon or at the latest tomorrow.

As for the sticky I will ask Will James for permission.

Strong words from someone that sells conversions... From what I've heard from Align sponsored pilots is that this is not a closed issue. The possibility is still there.

I don't see why not. However, if the 600N is flying great why change the set up.

Sorry guys. I've been extremely busy with work and the OCMA fun fly so I'm a bit behind with the mod pictures.

No the DS821 is to big. use something like your cyclic servo or make a adapter plate and use a Hitec 65 hb
