Announcing Rotorfest 2014, June 21 2014 Livermore CA

The Livermore Flying Electrons are pleased to announce Rotorfest 2014 on June 21 at the club field in Livermore CA.

Time: 8AM until 6PM
Pilot Registration: $20 at the field
Friends, family, and guests: Free

This is one day event and is open to all engine types and skill levels:
Electric
Nitro
Gas
Turbine

This year we will feature larger flying areas, even more pro pilot demonstrations, and an even bigger raffle. So save the date and make your plans to attend.

You can get to the LFE field from either the Vasco Road exit or the N. Livermore Ave exit. In either case, head north.

From N. Livermore, turn right on Hartford which winds around and turns into Raymond.

From Vasco, turn left on Dalton which also turns into Raymond

Nice! So I take it we can night fly if we want?

If anyone else plans to night fly please post here. Otherwise I might not want to go through the effort of getting my night machine flying again. It'll take some long nights.

well they reused the sign was from last year and just changed the date. Note that the flyer says till 6PM. Last year we intended to have night flying but here is the situation. Rotorfest is on 6/21, the longest day of the year. It will not get dark until quite late. Fireworks in our area on July 4th are done at 9:40PM. Last year, very few people hung around late enough. We won't have any generator tower lights and I don't know anyone local with Tony Whiteside style Redneck Spotlight gear. The early evening flying can be quite pleasant if the afternoon wind falls off. I think very few people will stick around for true night flying since it is a one day event.
