there are a couple on ebay, or were, that could be sent to US.

hobbyking use EMS or regular post, maybe both have box size limitations?

Sort of true. At the size, it CAN be shipped, but the cost would be crazy high.

When I say crazy high, I mean int he hundreds of dollars.

International shipping can be VERY expensive for large items.

Better for a US company to order a container load and sell them.

Is it me or doese it look like the wings are flexing pretty bad comming in for a landing. Check 3:00 might just be my eyes but looks like it straightens out right at landing.

Did you see the video of the Boeing 787 maiden flight? They wing flex could very well be scale.

Doesn't mean they have any there. At least not yet. But very few things I have seen show as in their US warehouse the last time I shopped the site.

Its not flexing too much and looks like a winner other than 4 power systems on 1 3000mah lipo probably wont get more than 3-4 min flight time tops. I have always followed the rule 1 battery per power system. I have tried 2 to one battery but always loose thrust to 1 fan. If they get them in the US warehouse I will order one just because its different.

The wing flex looks very genuine -- the A380 isn't as flexible as an all-composite 787, but it still makes a good smile at cruising speeds. I am not impressed with the twitchy response, though, it looks squirrelly instead of sloshy. And this thing really begs for gear retracts.

The 787 isn't all composite according to this statement which i have found on multiple sites referring to the B-787.
"Construction materials (by weight): 50% composite, 20% aluminum, 15% titanium, 10% steel, 5% other.... 80% by volume"

The A-380 on other hand is:
"About 25% of the A380 is made up of composites, 22% carbon fibre reinforced plastics (six times stronger and up to 60% lighter than steel) and 3% “Glare” " With the rest being aluminum/steel/titanium or other materials...

I also found out that "Carbon fibre reinforced plastic is used for the central box of the wings, the horizontal stabilisers (which are the same size as the Airbus A310 wing), the fin, the rear fuselage section and for ceiling beams."

Hard to believe that a reinforced plastic is strong enough to carry that much weight the A380 can haul around..

By "all composite" I meant the skin. The 787 Dreamliner has huge sheets of carbon composites for fuselage and wing skin, and many framing elements as well. At one point, they were worried that the wingtips would flex so far as to nearly touch each other above the plane, and stiffened up the framing a bit.

Of course, aluminum is well-proven and easy to make for fuselage framing, seat rails, floors, bulkheads, and control surface walls. If you think the plane is 50% composite by weight, and composite is lighter than aluminum, that's pretty huge.

So what is the fibre-to-resin ratio where it ceases to be genuine CF and turns into plain old CRP?
50:50? Or does this have something to do with fabric/filament versus chopped mulch? I'm asking because I consider all of it to be "composite" material.
