I'm happy with my setup - see sig below

ATM, my Kosmik is on its way back from Germany after that initial service bulletin thing. Whilst it's been away, and since the Xx700 has come out, the 17T pinion has become available. So, I have now installed the 17T, as opposed to the original 18T, and my reasoning is that the Pyro 800-40L is a slightly higher 400kV motor than the original 380kV Scorpion motor.

My throttle is 71% for 1900HS with the 18T, which has been performing well, but the 17T should get it closer to the ideal 80% and at the same time reduce the load on the motor some more.

Very good information. I might give that setup a try. Did you have to custom mount the ESC?

Home made "custom" mount from 20x20mm extruded aluminium angle.

See this existing thread with my photos attached.

Thanks Jay, looks good, I was thinking something similar but may just drill thru original CF plate. I'm surprised nobody has a custom mount for it yet but I guess there is not enough xxtremes out there yet and not enough of those using Kosmiks to justify machining. Let me know your numbers when using 17 tooth.

Those numbers look much better, Ready heli finally added the 17T to their web site but out of stock, so have to wait on it.
On another form they are talking about possibility of magnets coming loose on the 800 series motors have you had any issues with yours?

None.

BTW. I had my 17T on backorder since February when the Xx came out only because it was listed in the manual. It took until the arrival of the 700 (native 17T) for me to get the pinion the other week
