Default Please recommend a charger that balance cell independentlys

Hi, please recommend a charger for me.

I am looking for a 1s- 6s A123 battery charger.

Ideally could be one that is able to charger and balance each cell independently like the "Cellpro Multi4" (unfortunately it can only charge 4s)

Thanks so much!!

First off, the Cellpro 4S, Multi4, 10S, etc does not charge each cell individually, it charges just like other chargers, just through the balance connector. That said, any charger with a balance connection will balance LiPo and LiFe packs. Just pick one and you will be golden.

But I found my old imax B6 to be very difficult balancing my A123 packs if the volts of cells are around 0.2 V different from each other.

I guest the charger just charge the pack using the main power outlet, and use what ever method to balance the pack.

Can you explain what role does a balance connector play in a charger?

Either the charger was not used properly or it was not a good charger. Any quality lipo charger should be able to charge and balance a healthy pack.

As for how they charge, all lipo balance chargers charge through the pack pos and neg connections, be it accessed by the main pack leads or through balance lead, and the balances through balance leads.

2V differences are pretty large, and I think most chargers will try to make a complaint--at least I think so. I haven't ever seen that big of a difference myself.
