I use it as well - it is quoted by MSH as being for the 450 Pro, not the Mini Protos, but fits 100% http://www.msheli.com/Item.aspx?IDItem=128 MSH51309

Thanks. I like them both. But, and it will come as no surprise to folks who hang out in the Mini-Protos forums on Helifreak, my Mini-Protos is BY FAR my favorite of the two.

I'm planning to put MKS DS95's in the T-Rex 450, and maybe switch from the AR7200BX to the Brain, as well. Just to see if I can get it to behave more like the Mini-Protos. We'll see...

Please let me know how that goes...I'm just needing to get off my butt and finish setting up my Mini Prôtos. I got some great instruction for setting up the Kontroniks Koby ESC. So once that's done, I'll verify my setup on the Mini V-Bar and get some air time.

I really like my Trex 450 Pro V2 DFC but at times it seems as if the AR7200BX struggles to control it...I'm curious about the MSH Brain and Spartan's upcoming FBL unit.

I have all the stuff to put into my T-Rex 450 DFC, (MKS servos, CC ESC, Brain), I just need to do it. Waiting for some inclement weather, I guess.

Anyway, I am somewhat new to the world of heli's and am only learning these things. I have had the AR7200BX on a couple of heli's for a while now, and generally find that they kind of "wallow" and do not fly as precisely as my Mini-Protos with its current setup (MKS servos, YGE, Brain).

When I get things installed, and if I find any changes to the flight characteristics of the T-Rex 450 DFC, particularly if they relate to the Brain, I'll let you know.

Good luck.

Thanks!

I was in Washington State (east side near Idaho) and whenever I was near Seattle there always seemed to be inclement weather, laughs.

Seriously though, there's awesome scenery over there to fly around in! I keep looking to possibly getting the Brain but then I read up on the Spartan Vortex VX1 and decide to wait.

I'll finish settin up my Mini Prôtos and post photo's here.

Smile Made up for lost time during the week.

After such a great flying day with 18 packs and my stretch mini flying so nicely, thought it deserved a pic.

Beautiful looking Heli Chris! Looks like you're using the Edge 353mm Main Blades?

Was wondering, do you have to adjust your flying style between the 3S & 6S MiniP? I'm curious on your impressions of the regular versus stretch setups.

Thanks. Yep, the new Edge 353's - really like 'em.
Before I start, let it be known I'm a pretty crap pilot, but yes I do have to adjust back to the stock mini, mainly in collective response as it has less power, less float, and I'm only running 11.5 positive/negative vs 12.5 on the stretch, so I find the little one falls in sink holes quite a bit more when flying in turbulence, and it doesn't punch out anything like the stretch. That said, the stocker is still fun to fly especially with a decent headspeed. I've been trying like 2600 - 2700, but it comes to life at 3200 or more.
The stretch loves big air, and yet it is very stable and precise for scale type flying in a tight spot. It has power to burn and can tear up distance & altitude very quickly, in a park setting at least. Since I fitted the Edge 353's, I'm loving the stretch more than ever, and I plan to build another

Wow, your information just helped me a ton! I'm definitely no Pro either and my jaw still drops when pilots three quarters my age can Smackdown with the best of them.

I am a Mini Prôtos 6S Stretch owner as well but after my "learning" moment with a Castle Creations ESC on a FB Trex 450, I've been procrastinating on getting the final setup completed; instead I've been focusing on learning to fly more aggressive Circuits and orientation practice with my BLADE Helis...area's where my Mini Prôtos' would excel.

I'll get the Kontroniks ESC programmed and verify the Mini VBar settings soon, well hopefully soon. I've been eyeing those Edge 353mm because I run the Edge 253's on both my 300X's which is easier on all the electronic's and more stable to boot. I'm also thinking that those Edge 353mm Blades have a huge weight advantage over the Radix 350's I have on my MiniP now.

OMG! Take those Radix off right now! I flew hundreds of flights with them, but could never be quite comfortable with them because of the slow roll rate. I tried the SAB 350's and the thing suddenly had cyclic response just like my stocker running Edges. For me now the Edge 353's are favourite, then the SAB 350's.
I don't know how those 300x's fly, but I find Mini Protos's a LOT easier to fly than my Blade 450 3d. I don't know if that is now a flybar vs flybarless thing going on there, but when I tried to fly the Blade the other day, it was so bad I vowed never to fly it again. Actually, from memory my Mini when it was flybarred was easier to fly than the flybarred Blade. Still, I have no regrets buying the Blade - it was a stepping stone, just like the even more important MCPX.

Last entry as I don't want to be accused of hijacking this Thread, lol...I'll post my Mini Prôtos Photo's soon.

1) Totally Right about the BLADE 450 3D...can't make that Heli fly right and that's with the RTF kit with DX6i. 450X flies circles around it.

2) Radix 350's are thus far, CF Main Blades that I can't feel locked in with yet. These also freaked out my AR7200BX when I tried them on my Trex 450 Pro V2 DFC. I haven't flown with them on the Mini Prôtos yet but I'll try them out to be sure.

3) If you ever own a 300X ya gotta try the 253mm Edge Main Blades...PURRRFECT, IMHO. These provide Cyclic response that's not overwhelming for me.

So I'm convinced to try those Edge 353 -- one set for my MiniP and one set for my Trex. I'm not going to write off the Radix 350's just yet however, I got 3 sets that I got to use on some Heli, probably for my Rave 450, and I need to evaluate them on the Mini Prôtos with my flying style.
