Two days ago, just after having crashed my brand new stingray, I lost my frustration with the mini... perhaps more than two months without flying a heli... but I keep the Miniprotos as backup flying machine when everything else is broken...

New camera and new Mini.
Bit rusty on the sticks so put in a simpler flight.

I had a similar crash that was actually due to dumb thumbs but I had to sort jump back and it crashed pretty close to me. After that I kept my heli far away, so if it were to crash it wouldn't hit me or my flying buddies.

Tell me about the blade grip link angle in that photo... Normal?

I thought it should be 90*, but I could be wrong. I had mine at an angle like that and it seemed like the screws holding on the swash drivers were bent downwards.

I have the low FBL head so maybe it is different?

Something must be bent if that is the case or incorrectly aligned. An angle like that will cause significant phasing issues during flight. Did you feel your heli performing uncommanded movements while flying?

I would not fly like that.

That is what I thought. Like I said, for me, it was the washout arm screws on the head block.

I have also had slight bending like this that I've fixed by holding the upper part if the swash plate still while I turn the head firmly CCW.

This loads the washout arms in the reverse direction and bends it back.

I think the cause is crash damage from having the power on the driven swash when the blades contact something and stop spinning.

As you can tell, I will probably have to up my maintenance game beyond 'bend it back' if I ever get a 700!

MSH 1300 (6S) with iKON gov at 3150.

This is harder than I expected. If you are visiting where it is colder, you may have an easier time...

You need fresh snow and cold temperatures. It was 10F last night, and only about the top 1/2" of the 5 inches fresh was blowing off.

You will also need a clear day to get any worthwhile video.

Hmm well I go skiing in the Alps so hopefully I'll get some nice fresh snow to have fun with
I'm not too worried about getting a video, though my father does film me sometimes with his 7D, I mostly wanna do this for pure fun

Here are a few pics of my brand new kit with full set of Lynx upgrades...
I'm going to be testing pretty non conventional setup on this one - 3S with SK3 HeliDrive 2700kV motor and TGY-S306G servos. I'm curious which one of the components burns first

Here's my friend Carter beating the living you-know-what out of my Mini Protos. It's a 6S setup with Mini Vbar, YGE45 (Vbar gov), Pulse 1350 packs, RJX 360 blades, Lynx dampers and Lynx tail pitch lever. After all that brutality, the Pulse packs were barely warm. Impressive, because Carter was always able to make my other packs scream for mercy.

The stock canopy is not always easy to orient on, especially with overcast weather..
These new Lynx canopies on my twins will do much better. I picked the ones that seem to be easiest to orient on.
Even saves some weight. 34g for stock, 29g for the new ones.

Hope to shoot some videos soon.

The paint-job is really nice in daylight. Quality on part with my Fusno canopy.
Sun was just behind the clouds but this canopy really pops out! It was very relaxing to fly with it. The mini is such a smooth flyer.

My friend from far eastern Finland came to see me with he's night heli. I dont have a night heli so I came with the plan. Construction lights!! There is 10meters x 20meters of light and after that complete darkness

My mini did not survived as planned but i didn't crash against all expectations. Front pulley melted

We speak Finnish on the video but i can translate. All you hear means "where the f*ck is it!?"
