Default Tail help

Hi all,

I have a BE on a ksm dune, the tail rotor is on the left of the Heli and when I do rolls the tail seems to drop when the main rotor is perpendicular to the ground. This results in a very loose roll. I thought that the phasing could be off but the Heli flips on a dime and the tail stays right on the spot, so thought that there may be some tail setting that I could use to keep the tail from dropping during the roll.

Any ideas from the gallery?

=] sounds like a tail heavy CofG issue? the "cyclic mix" parameter in the tail tab might help?

So when you do an aileron roll, when the disc is pointing straight up and down, the tail rotates?

If so, that could be a couple of things. The tail gain could be too low, or you could be putting some unwanted rudder input in. Set the deadbands to 2 or 3% all around, that will help. Other than that, it's hard to say much more from what you described.

Default gain

Git,

good call, upped the gain and things are now good, don't know why i didn't do the hover, then gain adjust, had it on 48, its now on 60, and there is no hi speed wag or weird behavior so i am going to leave it there.

Georgi, i have bank two set up with 10% of cyclic mix and the original gain value, and will try that next weekend to see what that does, but i figured what i could fix with gain i shouldn't try and manipulate with cyclic mix?

=] if its now level leave it there, I did consider the tail gain also but would have expected to have seen other issues related to that, wrong CofG can produce counter intuitive effects.
