Wiring for Spektrum TM1000 setup.
Planning on using HW130A-V4 -> jlog 2.6 -> TM1000
I assume the TM1000 provides power to jlog2.6 via the xbus extension. Should the power wire between ESC -> Jlog be cut and keep signal and ground only?

Not necessary to cut. All input voltages are decoupled from each other.
The highest voltage wins the job.

Setup actually went pretty smooth. I didn't realize microSD card and USB adapter is included in package already. I did have to buy a couple things:
Also, aside from connecting everything up, had to do some f/w updates and minor re-wiring.
BTW, for others planning to use TM1000/HW130A-V4 combo, all this is covered here on the Jlog HW Platinum-V4 page: http://j-log.eu/jlog-in-funktion/sen...g-platinum-v4/ All the info i'm interested in seems to be working(rpm/FET temp/flight pack voltage & mah used). I'm so stoked! I have the DX9 barking out the accumulated mah used every 30 sec. I'll have to test the accuracy. Here's some pictures from testing. How do you get the battery capacity information ? I read the Hobbywing did not provide the information but you are displaying the used mAh on the radio.

I just enabled flight pack capacity on the telemetry menu in dx9.
my understanding is that the jlog integrates the current info from hw to get mah but could be wrong. in any case the info is there and it's accurate enough to be usable. within 5%. i can only speak for hw130a v4 + jlog2.6 setup. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

Yep, JLog does the cumulation of mAh, - just current value snapshots at known time steps.
It's quite normal that current "measurement" is not accurate measurement in an ESC, - it cannot be (read). Therefore we generally have the "ImotShunt" in JLog2.x and 3 (S32) to be able to make it better fit to what the charger is lying about charged capacity.

Great to know canberelyhover that the measurement is accurate enough to know when to land. And having the owner / great developer of jlog confirming the way they are measured ( integral of readings) answers all my question. I know what my next purchases are going to be. Thanks ! |
