If Allen_H gets his put together, and I get over my cold, perhaps we get some 550X/Goblin 500 pictures this weekend.

Will ask once again:
Can someone who was happy enough and has their bird ready build in front of them measure 2 things for all of us?
1. Helicopter height? (275mm - found from manual)
2. Total weight? Complete heli without battery.
3. What is the inside space in mm between the main frame's halves?

Thank you in advance.

Well I finished up my BX setup this morning. I will say the build went very smooth. Fit of parts was good only complaint is in the head block you can see the marks from the drill bit from where it was CNCd but its not real bad. Can't wait to test this thing out this weekend.Click image for larger version

@Allen_h: Great job! Gives me pleasant memories of when I built mine way back when (last Saturday)

I see in his pics that sat receiver ground antenna is coming in contact with the metal casing on the knight-head bar. Anyone know if there are issues with this?

Looks like an awfully big battery tray for 6S LIPOs. I wonder if it's been designed to accomodate 12S potentially ??

Is it possible to put the battery in from the back, would be better that taking the canopy off every time. ??

The battery tray is not that big. I find it a PITA to get the battery in and the strap on with the motor and ESC wires above it. And this is with some slim 5000mah packs. Would have been nice to have a removable tray.

Since when?

Uhhggg...nevermind, went back to your post and saw the laminating machine... I thought those wraps where a personal mod as I was writing my response...

Do you sell these? I'd like flourescent orange but would have to find an orange equivalent canopy...hmmm...would it be possible for you to that orange covering for only the green section of the canopy?

Also, can you make them from reflective tape? Maybe only reflective on parts of the canopy and stab / tail. How much would you charge?

Quick and dirty mock-up. Hmm...not quite sold on the idea...missing something:

With Orange Tail:
