Default Is it just me?

With the demand for the astroid designs kit, I find it rather annoying that people are buying them and selling them on eBay.

I also find it cheeky is the fact they have stolen and used Dylan's picture! What annoys me about it is Dylan clearly works hard and has put a lot of effort into these kits and people are trying to cash in on that.

Kind of the same as ticket touts.

I hope this one sells for a loss and someone gets a bargain, but I can't see it happening.

If they are linking directly to his images, Dylan COULD get a good laugh by replacing his images as this person did below:

Got a link to the Ebay AD? It doesn't bother me too much really, people have a change of heart sometimes after they buy something. It would bother me if someone bought a dozen kits and scalped them though...

Is it really that bad? I only see one item for sale

I'm sure Dylan has worked out the most suitable price to sell at, there may be a few people prepared to pay more, but that higher price wouldn't be sustainable in the long run. So it's not taking away anything from the manufacturer

If he did buy to sell, that's quite a risk, one of Dylan's kits costs about £45 brought to the UK. Ebay and Paypal fees together come to 14% for a private seller, so to break even that's a £51 sell price (+P&P for the buyer)

If it sells for £60, that's £7.50 profit, hardly profiteering
Add in the risk of the buyer installing it badly, complaining to paypal and getting a refund (paypal normally finds in favour of the buyer)

On a side note, this one is of interest to see what it goes for, I would've expected people would pay a premium for a ready converted nano

So there is no doubt, I have no connection to either seller

If that is who I think it is and I'm pretty sure it is, I built the mild conversion he talks about in his description. He is a good guy and I don't think he is trying to take advantage of anybody. He is just trying to sell a kit he doesn't need.

He's definitely a Freaker and seems like a good guy on the boards

Maybe I have a biased viewpoint to some others. I bought lots on HobbyKing batteries and sold them on for a reasonable profit, nothing vast, it paid for the shipping of my own parts and a little towards my items too

I felt it was win win, it helped fund my heli addiction and also was a convenience for people who didn't want to buy from overseas and risk losses, import duties and didn't want to wait

Things have changed now, ebay UK is flooded with HobbyKing items now at such small margins, it's hardly worth the bother

It's easy to get kits from AD. Just wake up at 3:30am eastern time, look for the now in stock email, and buy.

Ok, point taken... Maybe it's not as annoying as I first found it!

Thinking about it in the light of day, I have actually paid over the odds for stuff on eBay so I didn't have to worry about buying over the pond.

What a jerk that guy is !!

So what if some desperately keen wannabe CP-er persuaded him to sell the stock Nano he was gonna convert...

If that was me I would've done the decent thing and just put that BL kit I didn't need any more on a shelf to gather dust so that no-one else could benefit from Dylan's awesome goodies....

Ok, I can admit when I'm wrong....

Maybe there was an element of "I'm still waiting for mine to arrive and people can afford to sell them"
