Default XXtreme head dampers

My head dampers seem too soft. Any suggestions? Additional shims? Harder o-rings?

I had a boom strike whilst using Edge 813 blades. Fortunately I didn't crash.

Thanks
Allen

Allen,

I had a "boom touch" as well with Edge 813 Blades. The helicopter would probably keep flying through a complete book strike anyways...

Although o-rings did not show any wear I replaced them anyways and I did not have any more problems.

How many flights for the boom touch ?

Hard flight style ?

Curious as I have over 200 fights and try my best for hard 3d

I had about 20 flights with the Logo when I had the boom strike. I looked at the o-rings and they still seemed fine. I may replace them as a precaution.

I do have a boom cover which adds some height. I did contact Mikado and they noted that the Logo should run max 11 deg of pitch. I had 12 deg. :-)

I don't do hard 3D, but I was coming out the bottom of a stall turn very square.

Possibly a combination of things.

Well at 20 flights I can't see any issues.

One thought is the blade spacers , why Mikado chose alum on alum I'm not sure but I know my spacers will dig into the grips and gall up both.

This gives a feeling of a tight to overtight blade setting , where in reality the blade once in the running position doesn't have much tightness.

That with a hard pull might swing blade out of grip to snip boom.

I agree that blade tightness could be a factor. I usually run my blades pretty tight in the grips on all my helis. I just loosen the grips before I fold them back to prevent binding or wear on the grips or blades.
