I am running ice 120hv and scorpion 550kv. Does that sound like it will work? I have never built one this size that did not come with reccendations in the instructions like my mini Titan did. Will I fry anything using what I have? And the wires that come out of the motor seem slamm compared to the ones from the ESC.

Can I run my receiver battery strait into my receiver and run my main battery into the esc or will that over load things? I also have a castle bec but do I need it if I am using a separate receiver battery? Help...

Be careful here. This depends on what your electronics can handle What is the voltage of your receiver batterty? If it's a 2s lipo, you will have to have all high voltage electronics. Receiver, fbl unit, gyro, servos. This is what I use but all of my electronics can handle it. If they can;t, you will have to use a difeerent battery or step the voltage down with a regulator.
When you get this bird flying, you will love it. Just make sure that you set it up riight. If you need help or any suggestions, just post away. You will geet help. Charlie |

You can calculate your headspeed from battery voltage and ratio between pinion and main gear. It's explained here : https://www.helifreak.com/showpost.ph...2&postcount=54
You should figure out what voltage you want from the final headspeed you are shooting for. With the 550kv motor here are your options... 12s - 3.7*12*550 = 24,420 10s - 3.7*10*550 = 20,350 8s - 3.7*8*550 = 16,280 This will give you the 100 percent efficiency motor RPM which you will never see. Headspeed is calculated using the pinion/main gear ratio multiplied by motor rpm... headspeed = (15/135)*24,420 = 2,713 *20,350= 2,261 *16,280 = 1,809 Again, these are 100 percent efficient numbers at max throttle. You can also use a different pinion. If you would like to see what other headspeeds you can have, just replace the 15 with whichever pinion you would like to try. As for your question on the ESC, you need to look at the total wattage of the motor. If it is a 3500w motor, you can divide that by the number of volts you are putting through it. This is the equation for wattage. Volts*amps=watts 12s = 3500/(3.7*12) = 78.8 amps 10s = 3500/(3.7*10) = 94.6 amps 8s = 3500/(3.7*8) = 118.2 amps So running a 3500 wattage motor with 8s would probably not be a good idea since it is really close to the output of the esc. Hope this helps!

I had to up grade my radio and get the futaba 8fg and Hv receiver. It is connected to the gyro with the bus wire. I have a 6v nimh battery I use to run electronics in an old nitro I was going to run the electronics. I think I have to run the bec from the main lipo to the gy750 I'm running and then i can run the 6v to the reciever. Does his sound right? Any thoughts?

I am running a 2s lipo through a BEC to get a constant 6v out of it. I have the BEC going into a on/off switch which is in turn plugged into my receiver. The CGY750 will get all the power it needs through the receiver. My 10s is going directly to my ESC with no BEC connection there.
I am not sure about connecting the radio up from two different power sources since the CGY750 and receiver will share wherever they get their power from. Other guys may correct me if I am wrong.
