Default Why do you love your 480?

I’m looking to get my first Logo — I’m thinking the 480, because it will be my only heli (but not my first). You guys with 480s, tell me what you love about them. If you have experience with the Gaui X4/X5 series, or the Goblin 500, tell me why you prefer (or not) the Logo 480. And if there's something you don't like, please mention it too. Thanks so much!

Well, I jsut got mine, but, it isn't hard to see why people love these things.

1. The Quality is top notch

2. The design is extremely simple

3. They are extremely smooth and quiet

4. Very light disk loading

5. beautiful looking heli!

The 480 is the biggest that I have. My only other helis have been Blade. What I like about the 480 is that I can get a flight in here at the house. I have crashed a few times. The biggest cost for me has been main blades and the canopy. I am flying 7 minutes on 4000mah pack. I could get more with the way that I fly.

It flies great, looks awesome and has unmatched support from mikadousa. Above statements are correct also. Great bird, get one and you won't regret it.

It's hard to explain but it just feels right. It fits my style which is lower headspeed, smooth, quiet, long flights. It's a great size and I really like the look.

I sold my G500 to get the 480 if that means anything...hovered it for the first time tonight and I can honestly say that even though I have a bunch of tuning to do I like it better than the Goblin on its first hover..

Smooth & quiet..typical of what I've come to expect from a Logo.

480 XXtreme is light, and solid. Flies bigger than its size and long flight times.
Coolest running motor and Esc of anything I've owned, which is over 40 helis.
I have the 600 SX, 690 sx, 700 xxtreme and 800 xxtreme, the 480 xxtreme seems to have the power to weight of the plastic frames ( 600 sx, 690 sx) with the solid feel of the xxtreme series. Great little heli, far superior to the Goblin 500 that I tried.

I had a goblin 500 and while it flew awesome once I got good servos in it, it still felt porky and the short flight times were kind of a bummer.

I got the 480 cus I liked the looks of it and of course, it's a Logo! I am glad I did. The 480 was what I was hoping for out of the g500. Convenient size, relatively affordable packs, but flies similar enough to a bigger heli. This one will remain in my hangar for sure;-)

Good heli, I have a few and if I only had one the 480 would be it. Get the yellow / orange canopy, very easy to see.

Many reasons to love the 480 as listed above. When you build it and see how nice the plastic snaps into the CF you understand Mikado quality. Changing main gears is very easy compared to the other Xxtreme's. Mikado's are not an economy heli by any means. I think this keeps many from purchasing one. Once you buy, build, and fly one can a person understand what makes these models special. And then there's the great support....icing on the cake

My logo 480xx is my biggest and best Heli I own..
I like:
1.) the design is simplistic and beautiful. IMO
2.) super smooth build
3.) part quality
4.) Flight Characteristics (Solid feeling, LOOOONG flight times)
5.) Battery area has a good bit of storage

Dislikes: (Not many but more opinion and convenience)

1.) Mikado should have made a battery tray for ease of removal and inserting.. (Not a bad design just more convenient) [Goblin Battery Tray Mod is in my future]
2.) crashes can be bad but it's very light design so it is kind of a win/loss. The weight out weighs crashing for me

Overall:

Fantastic Heli. Good combo kit for good price. You need one :wink

I only get about 6 minutes or 3/4 of your flight time. I also use 3300mah batteries at 3/4 the capacity and weight. It floats nicely on 3300 batteries.

I hear the sweet spot is 3700mah 45C. Any experience with that?

No, I originally had a 6hvu and the biggest packs that worked right with it where 3300's so that's what I had when I got the 480 and they have worked great for my style.

I use 3700's and fly 6 minutes at 2380 head speed with room to spare on the pack. I'm not super thrilled about the pulse 45c packs I use but I haven't tried anything else to compare yet. They just seem to get noticeably weaker as the flight goes on. More so than any of my othe packs I use on other helis.

I had a X4II, bought the 480Xx after selling the Gaui. X4II is nice, but 480 is much better IMO. (smoother, quieter, longer, flight times, better presence)

I'll never sell my G500, because I really love it. If I'm in an aggressive flying mood, the Goblin comes out, I like the way it flys & looks the best.

The 480Xx is more my everyday practice machine and I really enjoy the extra 2 min flight time over the Goblin & it's quiet, smooth manners. Most relaxing to fly. I share batteries in both machines, running GA3800 35c

Congrats, I'm sure you will love it.
