Question Where is the 300X model for Phoenix Sim??

Just wondering if anyone has an idea of when we will be able to download the 300X model for the Phoenix Sim.

Hopefully after they provide the models people have been begging for for over a year now. Do we really need mostly immaculate models of every Blade heli in Phoenix. Especially before they come out? It's not like anything is accurate enough to use the sim as a "test drive" platform (though it amuses me to see how many people want to base a purchase on sim performance). No offense but there are many other models that people have been waiting for since before the mCP was announced. If need be add FBL physics in the Edit menu to the SR and viola, you have a 300X that's probably as innacurate as the version you're waiting for.

Eat your heart out!

I guess there are two Koolaid flavors, Blade and Align.

That being said, way too much angst about what models are in Phoenix Sim. I'd never make a buying decision choice on how a Phoenix model flies, just because you always have to trim the sim model to get even close to how the real model flies.

I just pick a model, any model, and if it feels like my own heli's, I use it.

Right now my favorite is the Logo 500. Seems to match my Furion 450 and TRex 250. On the latter, the Pheonix version is pretty useless, IMHO.

So why worry?

True that. I wanted to get a Gaui 250 but parts are going to have to come from outer space. So I went Align When it comes to Phoenix these two rule the roost as well.

My Phoenix software (v3.0.s) used to update frequently but it hasn't updated anything for ages, are they working on something big or just not modifying it as much anymore?

Well if you go over to the Phoenix forum, you will see that they have released the 4.0 beta. That means 3.0 terminates at "s", since the 4.0 upgrade is free. I guess that is one advantage of free upgrades for the company, since they can now stop worrying about bugs etc. for the earlier versions, and just tell you to upgrade to the new version!

However, note that this isn't an update YET, it is a beta. I assume when it gets past the beta level you will see it as an upgrade. Right now I don't think it is particularly stable.

I've spent hours on 4.0 with no issues.

I upgraded to 4.0 beta and had nothing but problems running windows XP. Switched back to 3.0s and back up and running. Not sure if my graphics card couldn't handle 4.0B or if my PC in general couldn't handle it.

Thanks I'll stick with the current version for now then, as I'm running it on a pretty basic laptop and I'm not interested in the 'cockpit view' feature; how will that help train my thumbs? I'd rather they focused on making it fly better.

It's not just a cockpit view. They also changed the physics. I think the models fly more realistic in the beta version.

You have more options to tweak. Go to physics and you can make it more or less realistic. Part of some peoples problems is they have it standard at 50%... Crank the model physics to 100% and you get a little more realism. Then go down to the Rotor. You will find hover stability. Change that to a more realistic number like 85-90% and you get even more realism. You just have to click around and check buttons.

I run a:
Windows 7 Ultimate
I7 2630 - Quad Core 2.9GhZ
GTX - 560M Video Card 3.0 GB GDDR5
Ram - 16 Gigs DDR3 Kingston HyperX
Intel SSD Drive

Phoenix runs fully maxed without any issues or lag time... Its good for muscle memory, but you can't learn to fly unless your outside. You need the wind, the sun, the interference that real world can bring.

Have not read the thread comments, but...

You probably could just fly the Blade SR and get basically the same results as if there was a 300 X model in Phoenix. Maybe bump up the physics value on it a bit.

Personally, I think having the exact model is overrated (but sure its nice) - I usually just fly the heli that best matches the size and call it good. And actually, I mostly just fly the 700s since they're easiest to see. I don't even own a 700 haha.
