The reslut of my first crash with the 500; lost all tail authority while inverted at about 50-60ft off the deck, I hit TH some how managed to get it upright.

Not the way I wanted to learn inverted autos

but so far the only damage is the main blades and the skids

Remember to replace all those bearing in your head! If you want cheap and better than stock replacements I use avidrc.com. Can't beat $1 a bearing and boca quality.

You realy did luck out on that one

With my crash the tail was spinning fast! I didn't even think twice, just went for the auto and as soon as the tail had slowed enough, I just did the piro flip without thinking, but didn't manage to slow it down enough at the end

In the circumstance, for my first proper auto, I'm happy with how it came off.

But like you said in your video 'you can crash the same way twice and not brake anything the first time and brake everything the second time'.

I got a lot of practice flipping back over in time lol! When I built my 500pro I had to make a whole new model. I had not done that in almost two years. Before that I was always changing out a model for a new one. Well with Futaba radios I forgot there is a page two on the throttle curves. Page two is to initialize idle ups? Every time I would would go into a hover inverted the speed control would shut down. I always seemed to get it flipped back around just in time to break a landing skid.

Which is exactly what happened about 7 or 8 flights later... this pissed me off so much I switched to DFC - it flies ok now but the tail is giving me fits. This was kinda dangerous. It was totally my fault too.

I think I've posted this one before... a part of the blade hit my son in the leg and made a little cut otherwise everybody was fine...

Got my first maiden today with my HK500 + Align 3G Flybarless system!
Just need to adjust the gain on the system a little.. I'm used to smaller heli's 130/450.. But now i'm gonna stick to 500 size.. It flies so stable!!
Soon she will be surrounded by a Airwolf fuslage!
Video is recorded with my ARDrone so no sound from the heli. I also forgot to change the quality to 720p
