Default First night flight set-up
With the days getting shorter I figured I'd better get a heli rigged up for some night flying

I decided my 550X would be the choosen one. Just ordered MS 550 night blades, & 1meter of RJX green & 1meter of RJX white.

Hope the weather is good for Halloween....lol

Well I was happy to make my order last night. Ordered as soon as the 550 blades arrived at helidirect. After placing my order it said "only one left" cool I got second to last set, or one of only 2 they got in.

So today I get an email saying sorry this item is "backordered" WTF!!

I sent them an e-mail saying I feel this is BS. Obviously the 550 are the most popular blades. I can order from HK, but they want $20. shipping.

Will see what helidirect has to say.

Shipping was pretty fast from HK, but with US exchange, $21 shipping, $10 handling fee, $18 tax & $5 cod fee.....these are some expensive blades!

Should be able to do my first flight next week if the weather gives me a break

Looks great! Are the ms composit led's a single color top and bottom, or is the bottom different in color or led count?

Bottom LEDs are red with smaller count. Rigged up my own charger from a 1s e-flight charger.

That green and white color scheme is the bees knees.

If done carefully you can use 3 colors but only see 2 of them while looking directly at the top or bottom of your heli. Not sure if those blades will allow for it. I had one of my old 450s set up that way. View from the top was green and white while the underneath showed only purple and white.

Looking good. Can we see some more pics and maybe a video?

Thanx Yup the gopro will be rolling when I finally get a chance to do my maiden night flight. Between the weather & work I've had no chance to fly anything for almost 2 weeks!!

I'm off later this week, so hopefully the weather is ok

Well finally got around to getting some video up, got about 15 night flights in so far, getting more comfortable all the time.

550X night flyer (2 min 18 sec)
