I believe you can have too much of a good thing!

That's because you make good helis... they will always find a place.

But you can't deny that the 700 field last year was a very different place to what it is this year. I've never seen so many high quality helis appear in the same class all within a short time frame as I have with the 700's lately.... The Gaui X7, the Synergy E7, The whiplash 90E, The (as yet unreleased I know) Aleesrc Rush 750, the SAB Goblin - need I go on?

My point isn't that the Protos 700 can't succeed, I'm sure you'll sell plenty and hell it may even be me buying one of them, my point is it's not going to have an easy ride.

I don't have any concept of R&D or manufacturing for these things, but I am sure there is a demand that will offset the development. Look at the Aurora! It isn't on the shelves long enough to get a layer of dust, and Trex 700's are produced in quantities that make me wonder who the heck is buying all those helicopters!

The hobby is growing, and if the bubble bursts, the top brands will still be standing.

Composite plastic can be stronger and lighter than alum you know... Take a hit and bounce back in to shape, not stay bent.

I disagree! The Protos is in a class by itself, design is a wok of art, weight is one of if not thee lowest in its class size, speed is off the hook. I've had several pilots who have trex 500's and they cant believe how sweet the Protos is compaired to thiers. If the success of the protos 500 and the little brother 450 is any sign , the 700 will be at the top with the rest of them no problem!

I have a feeling that the Protos 700 will be the lightest in its class and be the cheapest to repair.

If they keep it mainly plastic it will be...

Amazing what you can do with the proper composites

I don't disagree that they are good helis - I loved my Protos. That is flirting with the realms of semi-fanatic hyperbole however.....

They are great but they aren't magic, and the alternatives (some of which I mentioned above) are very high quality too - we aren't comparing a Protos to a T-Rex 500 here.

Look, I don't want to rain on anyone's parade and obviously there's going to be a lot of excitement over the new Protos, I've made the point I wanted to and so any further posts on the issue would be flogging the proverbial dead horse. It'll be a great heli, of this I'm sure. It'll sell fairly well, of that I am confident too... in the mean time there are a lot of very tempting alternatives in the same class.

I have both size Protos and LOVE both! But, why go straight to the 700 size and will there be anything between them. I would have really loved to see a 550 or 600. I KNOW I'm going to want a P700, but not sure if I'm going to make that jump. I kinda like being able to share packs with my 500's and 600.

There isnt a single decent 700 available IMHO.
I have my hopes up for either the Logo700 or the protos700 but al the rest is just crap to me. So untill a good 700 hits the market I will stick with my logo600

Really?! You don't think there's a single decent 700?

Wow... I don't know what to say to that. You're a hard man to please!

Synergy E7 is pretty hard to fault. Then there are the german helis TDR and Diablo which are very nice...

A Nitro is a perfect application for a cgy 750. That is the one flybarless controller that really doesn't seem to care about vibrations.
