Help.... strange qimbal sound
Hoping someone can help me out. I just purchased a used phantom 2 vision as an upgrade from the Blade 350. It's in great shape and flys wonderful. The only thing that seems strange is a buzzing type sound from the gimbal. When I tilt the quad manually the gimbal obvious tilts as it should and makes the standard sound. But there is on ongoing buzz that continues from the time I power the entire thing up to when I turn it off. I am curious if this is a normal thing or if it something I should investgate further. Thanks for any help

You may hear a faint little buzzing while powered up, but it shouldn't be real loud. If the gimbal seems to be working and nothing's getting hot, you should be good to go!

Could you shoot a video of the gimbal powered up and post it to youtube?

heres a link to a video of it. Thanks for the responses. The camera and all seems to work like it should. I was just hoping there is a way to stop that buzz because it sounds like theres an issue.

It got louder when you turned it around. I'm not familiar with that cam/gimbal setup but it sure sounds like motor noise to me. Does that gimbal depend on the NAZA for position data? If it does then check in the Assistant software to make sure the settings haven't been made to high or too sensitive.
If that doesn't fix it, then start next with the gimbal itself. If you can access the programing in the gimbal itself check to see if the sensitivity is too high. I'm generalizing here. Sounds like it's working too much to hold the position. The noise comes from the motor coils being energized but not enough to move the armature. Just enough to vibrate it. If you unplug the gimbal with the quad powered up, does it stop? |
