Default Plastic frame Bat mount new way

I cut the front off of a cracked x5 lite frame to use a 6s bat mount on my plastic hurry ! Made spacers from alum rod stack from local hobby shop all done with hand drill. I can picture me going up to a flyer right after a crash and sayin' "could I have your broken frames" dah I don't think so....had to brag...My mods don't usually look this good

Is that CF from another heli? I want to buy another plastic frame as a spare but can never find the battery mount "chin".

Yes I made that by cutting off the front of the Gaui x5 cracked frame. I have since trimmed excess plastic and am waiting for my batteries from hobby king for final fitting. Also, I ordered a battery mount that goes to the carbon fiber hurricane 550. Will see if I can mod that to work. Should get that in todaay's mail. Cost about $12. I will let you know how that works.

I think I have one of the battery mounts for the carbon version I bought in error ... if I didn't throw it out. I bought a home made battery mount to mount under the chin from PT (I think) on this forum. That works but I want to have a replacement on hand for the inevitable gravity storm (I want to learn inverted flight).

I did something similar but I just cut the nose off and mounted the battery 'wedge' on there that comes with the Hurricane 425 kit. Fits a 6s on top real nice, and only $3.95. Can post a photo if anyone is interested.

I can fit a 6s 3000 on the stock 425 (stretched to 550) with no problems

I think a lot has to do with the canopy. With the "A" canopies, which I have, it will not fit with a 6s on top or under the chin. I believe a 6s will fit with the "B" canopy and the Fusuno canopy.
I received a request by PM to post a pick of mine, which I will do as soon as I can find one, or take another pic.

A 6s fits just fine on my HeadHunter framed one though. Still have another brand new HH frame waiting for me to build.

I too used a "Rex 550" canopy and there is plenty of room inside... I used 600 canopy mounts too...!
