Hi Kosmo,

So the Fox TX and the Lawmate RX are the only things that are giving the video downlink ?
I currently have a DUO5800v2 5.8GHz Diversity Receiver and a 6mw TX, connected to the receiver are those 'Micky Mouse ears' 9db antennas .... However the video link drops out a lot. SO I am searching for a solid downlink system.
Is the system you have a solid connection ? What items would I need to purchase to make the setup ?? Any help would be much appreciated!
Cheers.

Hi :-)

Yes, I use TX fox 800mW and Lawmate RX 1.2 GHz with high gain patch antenna 1.2 Ghz 8dBi.
When I was flying in my video I had in TX standard antenna. Now I have vee made by my friend Wiesiek. You can also buy this kind of antenna at many shops.

5.8 GHz is not very good staff. Use 1.2 GHz It's much better. Many people who fly FPV use mainly 1.2 GHz
In my video, when I was on the top of mountain I had very clear view . Remember it was more than 3,5 km from me.

My record this heli with this setup of video is 4046m. I had to come back because my battery pack was nearly empty, but video was really good all the time.

I will give addresses of sites to the shops in witch I bought it:

So here you are :-)

Tx fox 800 mW 1.2 GHz

Unfortunately you are not able to buy only TX. In pack is TX and RX. You have to buy booth. But for this price it's really worth! Rx is also very good. I don't see difference between Fox and Lawmate. I use Lawmate because I bought it first.

Rx Lawmate:

and antenna witch I use with RX:

Ok, I did a few photos of my heli, so I'll show you everything

This is comparison of normal blades align 600mm and asymmetrical spinblades.
There are really wide!

Hey,
Thanks a lot for the info! I will definitely go buy a different unit.
The photos look great. I also use the same main blades as you! I bought them in Germany. They are great. I will post a few shots of my AP ship once I have finished everything. With those main blades, a 450 Pyro Kontronik motor and a Kontronik Jive HV 80 ESC, I now get much more flight time than my old setup.
Im also running the Ace One on it.
Is the antenna you have on your TX the standard one ? (I haven't looked at your links yet)

Also, would a 1000mw TX be any better quality or does it not matter that much ? And a higher Db gain antenna say 15 ... would that be better or even work ?
Im looking for the best downlink possible here ... as I was out in the field today and the bloody thing was dropping all over the place.

No, this is antenna made by my friend. I have been using standard antenna for a long time and also was good.

One of my friend use Tx Lawmate 1000mW. I didn't notice any difference between Fox 800 and Lawmate 1000mW.
But I'll tell you I'm going to buy Tx fox 1500 mW, this one:

I'm very curious about this Tx....

No, this is no good staff! Because the stronger antenna, the smaller the angle.
I have had one and I threw the antenna really quickly! 8dB is very good.

Super! I'm waiting for it!

Hi :-)
I have already bought Tx Fox 1500 mW too. I'm waiting for pack

I use lipo Turnigy 1000mAh 3S 25C to power my system.
This is sufficient for about four flights. Each flight lasts about 10-12 min.

I am just about to buy one of the packs.... but I have read that the 1500w TX might interfere with the GPS module that I have on board ... maybe I am better going for the 800w unit ? I won't be flying far far away ... I just need a solid downlink.
What do you think ??

So take 800 mW! I have a few Tx of Fox 800. Each one works great. And there is no problem with GPS module. 800mW works great up to 3 km.

Default Awesome video

Kosmo,

You posted your power setup. I use the same motor in my T-Rex 500, which is stock. Did you change to this one in your T-Rex 600? I did notice if you did the ratio with the 13T pinion it would be 13 to 1. The T-Rex 500 ratio would be almost the same at 12.5 to 1. If all is said a person could possible use T-Rex blades on there 500???

What OSD do you have with the GPS???

Quote:
Motor: Align BL 500L with 13T pinion
ESC: RCE-BL100G 100A
Battery: Turnigy 5000mAh 40C
Everything works on 6S
Thanks for all the information on Long Range, It helps a lot.

Brian

Hi aaa100

I didn't notice my mistake. Of course I use Align 650L in my T-rex 600e with main blades 620 mm.
