Default Savox BSM 5055-550

Well, I got to give the 6HVU a good toss-around today. Decided I'd plug in the Savox motor. It's definitely go MO POWA. I had it listed in the classified for a while, but I'd guess no one knows enough to bite. I listed it for $105. The motor goes for over $200. I can say that without far better packs, motor is no longer a limitation in my model! This motor has a very unique cooling fan design in the head. It has CNC ends and a single strand wind. The power is crazy. I thought an 11t would compare well for rotor speed to my stock 4026-505 with 12t. Not so. Much more head speed. I believe that the 4026-505 is likely not 505kV. Maybe more like 475 or so. I plan to swap to a 10t pinion to put rotor speed to a good point where I'll get some flight time back and reduce the strain on the packs. My old Sky Lipo packs are easily the limiting factor. Interestingly, they don't get that hot, or swell, but they definitely run out of capability after 4 mins. So, I can tell the motor is making a good bit more power as it's extracting more energy from the packs in less flight time. It makes the heli a rocket. So far,

Excellent news!

I am running this motor on my G570 that will be in the air soon. Got it for $102 shipped brand new with the sale they had! Can't wait to try it!

It has impressed me with it's top notch quality. I probably got the last discounted motor. What a deal. I was also pleased that the shaft is milled with a nice long seat for pinion set screw. No filing, or Dremel needed. Shaft is XL for seating in counter bearing supports too.

Awesome!

I had to cut it for the G570 as it needs a shorter shaft length but all is good! Just waiting for Rx packs to arrive!

NICE. Have those on my 700N, and they are excellent. (9180's and a 9288, actually)

Very nice. Did you use the motor connectors that came with the motor? They are tiny! I had a hard time getting the castle wires in there as they were thicker than the connector!

Also, what PWM and timing are you running and with which ESC?

No issues with connectors for me. Same as the stock motor and my ESC. Running Jive 80HV, so auto timing and PWM frequency.
