Default Newbie from New Zealand

Hi everyone, Mark here from New Zealand. Been flying for a couple of years. I've used HF for a lot of advice, thanks to all who've contributed to the advice I've read. Started with a Honeybee, got a Belt CP, got a little frustrated with the belt and ended up with a Kyosho EP450V of all things, wrote that off and decided to give the hobby one last throw of the dice (the wife said if I failed with the new heli that meant I just couldn't do it and I had to admit the fact and give up.....) so with those words ringing in my ears I bought Phoenix flight sim, a DX6i and a T-Rex 450 pro dfc. I went from strength to strength once I had a sim and a quality heli, I can hover in all orientations, do loops, flips and rolls and a few variations of stall turns, on the sim I can do some 3d such as tick tocks, funnels, backwards flight and inverted hovers. I realise I've only scratched the surface and have so much more to learn but at least I feel like the control of the heli has clicked. Just finished a T-Rex 600 pro dfc build and did the first test hover last weekend. So that's my introduction out of the way..... Cheers, Mark.

Hi Mark, welcome!
There's no substitute for a good sim and a good quality heli. Those cheapies will cause nothing but heartache and discontent, as you have found out.
Sounds like you are progressing well.

Hi Mark. Sounds like you are making good progress. In which part of NZ do you live?

Hi npomeroy, I'm in Whangaparaoa 30 minutes north of Auckland. I'm currently looking for new flying spot since I've went up a couple of sizes. What's the sites like down in your neck of the woods?

This is my favourite site. We also have a large sports field complex with a couple of undeveloped fields used for flying. Not to mention a large polo ground.
