Default no gov???

Anyone flying their NX4 with out a gov? Ive been using the throttle jockey and it just burnt up in a crash. I have the BX on it and just dont want to deal with trying to figure out the BX gov. I figured since it's so small it probably would be fine with a straight 100% curve. Just wanted to see if anyone has flown it without one and how was it.

I believe mine did not have a gov for the first 60 flights. but there was the old school throttle curves in the radio.

It is WAY better to have a gov, the multi gov pro is awesome if your looking for super easy setup
Never tried the gaui one,

I use a Multigov pro on my NX4 as well and it has been nothing less than great. They are cheap, easy to program and work very well. Finless has some great setup vids in his part of the forum on here too.

I've been flying my gasser so far without a gov... But that's only because I need to pick up a new sensor... The one I tried since I've built it wasn't functioning... It was an old spare I had... I do plan on trying a different one as soon as I get around to ordering it.

My 'gasser' thro curves would be very different from those of a nitro... But I've honestly never heard of anyone running a nitro at wide open throttle consistently... That just doesn't sound right to me...

you must not know tim jones then

he runs straight 100% throttle curves with no gov on all his nitros. the key is keeping the head loaded at all times.

Not many people have the ability to keep the head loaded the whole flight.
Takes some skills

I would advise against a 100% flat on the NX4, it's not geared for that, like Tim's is geared for his engine. You can run a V curve and it'll work good. I'd start with like 80 on the ends and 60 in the middle and adjust from there.

I ran no gov for a while i think the curve i used was 92-82-72-82-92
It worked well but when i added a multi gov i was able to lean out the engine a LOT which in turn almost doubled my flight time.
