These worked great for me, once of course I figured out the correct wiring scheme.....they make for a nice clean install and are fairly cheap....Shipping is almost as fast as carrier pigeon. I think it took 7-8 days before I even got an acknowledgment of shipping, then another 3 days or so.....sloooooooow! Go figure, in the purchase acknowledgement email all it talked about is being patient on shipping because he is soo busy.....ah anyway, they work well....

I got my gen ace packs a few days ago ,

checked them tonight and i have a bad cell in one pack

Anyone had any warranty issues with hobbyparts ?

their support is very poor unfortunately.
my best advice is buy another pack if they don't help you quickly

I've never had an issue to date, but I would suggest calling them and waiting on hold - it's the best way to get a response from them on any matter.

If you have not used them and have not changed connectors they will replace. With GensAce always check all cells before you use them I have had same thing and they exchanged now problem..

I haven't done anything to them.

I always check cell balance before i do anything to batteries.

The amount out of balance usually gets better as i cycle them a few times.


DO they take a long time to reply to emails ?

You just prompted me to go check mine - I've had 4 x 3s and 4 x 4s packs sitting there for a couple of weeks and haven't opened them. They all tested out perfect, within 0.01 or 0.02 of 3.83V/cell.

Shame you were unlucky on your first purchase with them. Hopefully they sort it out quickly.

I maidened mine on Sunday - I was surprised at how crisp and snappy it is for such a huuuuge heli.

Yeah , first order

I just moved so i'm not in a time crunch right now.

I'm giving hobby parts a fair chance to replace the pack for me.

Emailed them last night , i'd hope to hear something in the next day or so.

Lets hope thay make it right ( in a timely fashion ) because 1 pack cartianly won't be enough for this big heli.

Recharging at fiells would most likely have me walking home .. lol. NO no power at field.

I like using the phone with them, but if you can't call during the day they have that forum rcdiscuss.com and I think there's a subforum on there for warranty.

I just checked my battery tester again and there's one more zero there after the decimal point - it's actually 0.001 or 0.002V difference between cells.

Let us know how they handle it.

I filled out a form on there site to file an online ticket. Tried and tried to get the stupid Captcha Text to work.

Then i filled in the email support instead.

I got a responce back today asking which battery is was and that they would replace it for me.

I reply'd today and hope to hear back agian tommorow.


Will keep you guys updated as i progress more.

Wow, perhaps they have improved their support. A few months back I got a bad 2S 450ish pack that had a bad cell. I sent an email and they told me I had to call them which is something I did once before and I was on hold for 2 hrs that time so I just took the $3-4 loss

Has anyone tried the sky lipos on the Xxtreme?

Been waiting for the Gens ace 5300 but they are still out of stock and batteries are all I need to maiden mine.

I'm thinking about going with the Sky Lipo 40c or 30c 5000 or maybe a set of Gens Ace 25c 4000 just to get me by until I can get the 5300.

Any opinions?

Decided to go with a 3s - 4s combo of the 30C 5000mAh Shy Lipos. should be here next week then I will have everything for the maiden.

Just ordered another pair of 3s-4s batteries but had to get 4400 this time. The Sky Lipos 5000s are out of stock and the Gens ace 5300s have been gone for awhile.

The good news is this will give me two flight packs now, that means twice as much XXtreme flying.
