Default raven 30 w/os 37 engine gearing ?

hi guys,
im using the 13t gear on the small shaft with a 55t gear.

would I be better off changing the 55t to the 53t ??

is says it will give more head speed but wandering if it would be good for the os 37 engine with hatori 3d pipe.

You did not say what head speed you want to run at. That is important in picking the gearing in any heli.

The stock 9.76 gear ratio (with the 13T pinion) will work very well for any head speed from 1500 to 1800 with that motor. For sport flying I would suggest 1700 or so.

The lower the head speed, the longer the flight time on a tank of fuel. I found a nice overall head speed for training and sport flying is 1650. So, as MotorRotor said, the stock gearing will be fine.

P.S. When you want to get into more serious aerobatics/3D, then change to the harder red dampers, bring the head speed up to 1850 or so. You can go to the 14T and higher head speeds but I would then upgrade to the 6mm spindle with the thrust bearings and add some top 550 C/F blades (like the Rotor Techs).

If you want to then go into an FBL configuration add the 2517 FBL rotor head and convert to the eCCPM control system.
